Trusting Nick Smith ought to be grounds for a big ACC payout - for brain damage.
The principle is sound - I was surprised to discover suicide payouts were part of cover, and wonder seriously if they can be justified irrespective of ACC's purported parlous financial position - but his comments are politically idiotic. He should know better given his experience in politics.
He's made a right fark up of his other portfolio too. By any reasonable performance standard (like if government was run like private organisations) he should be well on the naughty step, or better yet out the door, by now. Key doesn't have the scrote for that though. Apart from Worth - who was involved in matters of a sexual nature, so had to be given the heave-ho - Key's defended his naughty boys even more strenuously than Helen did. But just as unjustifiably.
