But it used to be that the Accomodation Office would place all the applicants into a pool.
Hall Masters would draw applications from the pool, based on what ever criteria they chose. Sometimes this was on applicants preference, but could also be based on course, marks etc
Those they did not accept, or who turned down an offer, went back into the pool
Those left in the pool at the end of season were S.O.L.
If you have been offered a place take it asap. There are far more applicants than places, there is no guarantee that your application will ever be seen by those halls you aimed for, and Salmond is good - right on campus
