"Can we do that again?" Taupo roads?

Hi There,

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions of any really good roads round Taupo / lake Taupo area that are a good challenge and/or just plain "can we do that again?" roads?



PS: Yes im aware that there is a track at Taupo

Riding around the lake is good. You can also go down to Taurmarunui, Owhanga and back to Turangi. The Western Access road is fun (good stop at the Tihoi Tavern!).

Alternatively, out to Whakamaru, through the back road towards Te Awamutu, Arapuni, back to Taupo.

Or Taupo Whakamaru, over the dam, turn right and head to wards Atiamuri.

There are heaps of really good rides around Taupo - it all depends how long you want to take!

I rode this route a while back - 'twas pretty good...be even better now without ice on the roads...
