    Shaun Harris: living legend

Ok so I'm chatting to this bloke in the good ol' US of A, 'bout some parts for my bike, had a giggle about the stars 'n stripes paint scheme I had on the 'blade, and he pops up with "Do you know Shaun Harris?". I reply "Yup" and after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing he tells of seeing the mighty wee ginga racing at Michigan in 2003. This is a direct quote:

"The one time I witnessed Shaun race he was amazing. He showed up a couple days before the weekend, rode a bike he'd never seen before (2003 R6) and finished 2nd to the local "bounty hunter" by mere milliseconds, at a track he'd never seen before that weekend!

Shaun and the other guy (Larry Denning) must have passed each other 10 times in that 10 lap race. It truly was amazing to watch. I'll never forget it."

This from a guy who is himself a very successful racer.

As if we weren't proud enough..........

Don't let Shaun know he could win it now. (lighter isn'he? less teeth)
    Cool to hear such stories.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Cheers slowpoke, that race was a ripper, Larry Denning was the local hotshot in that area, he took in $87-500 in contingency prize money that year in the WERA racing scene, we did pass each other at least 10 times per lap, it was f----in fun.

It was by going over there and meeting a few people, that helped me to get Dom Jones going over there, a lot of people stepped in after that day to support my idea;s

    Thanks Wera people

Legends on 2 Wheels a Celebration of NZ's greatest Motorcycle Riders: By Rhys Jones

...i got this book for my birthday on page 124/125 there's a cheeky grinned Shaun Harris and a good write up about what this fellas acheived.
Page 79 there's another picture of the Gremlin racing the Britton at the Isle of Man what an experience that must have been. Its good to have a living legend like Shaun as well as a few others showing up that the race meets.

Well done Shaun, maybe its time to write a book mate, id certainly like to hear about your exploits!~

O the stories to be told. BUT I have discovered in the racing game, that the TRUTH seem to hurt a lot of people, and I can only tell the truth

I am writing one, but it takes a long time, and some times I loose interest in it, so it gets parked for a few months.

Maybe after this summer, I will find the time to finish it.
