KiwiGS, if you're up this way over Xmas/New Year or later, how about joining us for the BFTP summer ride.
I am heading down to pick up Croc's boots on Saturday arvo.

We are planing a Dunners xmas this year, the plan is too have a decent holiday up north later in the year. I may just be able to fit a BFTP ride or two in, I know where there is a GSX400FW sitting in a garage in fact it is sitting in the place where a certain black and red CBR1000 used to sit....

The day after I met Dieseldick I went for a ride down to Palmy north and met up with a mate on a GSX1200. We were heading back to the 'Bay on the back roads.
Not far from Porangahu I came around a slow down hill corner and met a sheep head on.
The GSX1200 was riding point and must have spooked it.
Long story short, I had to ride back to Hastings with a broken and dislocated shoulder, torn ligament in my knee and a few cuts and bruises.
Once in Hastings I went straight to the Em doctors who misdiagnosed my shoulder as a "bump" and I spent 20 hours with my shoulder out of joint.
After a few years one shoulder reconstruction and one knee reconstruction I am good as gold.
The CBR was sold to a guy in Timaru I think.

Oh noes! That would have been a funny story but for the damage to you and your bike.

Everybody else seemd to think it was a great joke thats for sure.
The favourite jokes were sticking bits of wool to my bike, sticking wool to the visor on my helmet and baa'ing when I headed to the bike park.
    Good times....

that's actually the same pipe as what i've got.

but you can take the hacksaw out as i want to cut the pipe end square.
and get the silencer to come up on an angle just as in the pic.
so, don't put that welder away just yet

    no penalty as such
but it surely doesn't get forgoten too easily, i.e. it keeps poping up in conversations whenever there is a chance

my "warm drink sipper bottle situation" was on the agenda for a while as was me taking a wrong turn here and there when leading a ride
