Check your bike, it may have been tampered with.

Friend of mine had his bike tampered with by who we think was his X-girlfriend

On sat we had a spanner day at a friends home, tristan a good mate of mine said he was going to oil up his chain, next thing I hear..... check this out the spring clip on the joining link is missing, I had a look and noticed scratch marks on the remaining part of the link, didn't think to much about, thought it worked loose.

Sunday arvo he told me his neighbour came over early that day and said had seen someone in his carport late thursday night, thought it was a female he said, so tristan and I soon came to the conclusion that it had been removed with a screw driver maybe by his X......not sure of coarse.

So take note :- This could happen to you, so check your bike on a regular basis!!

    Cheers Nuts

PS....... Has anyone seen a chain come off at speed????

Chains can come off if old or not maintained properly.

The story about the physcho ex has much more street cred though as well as being entirely possible.

Certainly does not pay to get on the wrong side of someone, and it does pay to have a bit of a check around.
I always wonder where people don't have the luxury of a garage in crowded cities where they park there bikes, in Eingland you youst to see them angle parked out on the street overnight.

Twice, one flew out the back and didn't do any damaged. The other wrapped around the front sprocket and cracked the engine casing pretty bad. Both were through not looking after the chain properly and a "she'll be right" attitude.

120kms on Hutt Road (SH2 part) by the Mermaid (cunts with scales) my GSX1100EZ lost its chain due to a lazy mechanic not folding over the front sprocket locking washer

I am so fuckin lucky I chose to wear my old MX boots that day...no reason just did....they saved my foot

Pictures of the ex-girlfriend or it's not true. She sounds interesting - obviously into bikes knowing where and what the circlip was.

It's a relevant comment though - there are some dogey people out there. When towing a trailer on the car, if I leave it unattended anywhere (supermarket etc) I always check the coupling before driving.

Tristan is a very hands on kind of rider, right up with maintenance and all, I believe the chain was not old and certainly didn't look dry either.

    Psycho X still looks possible

Yup, at about 70mph on an Aprilia Pegaso. Somehow it locked round the rear sprocket, locked the wheel, destroyed the tyre & a perfectly good pair of underpants. I have no idea how I did'nt go sliding down the road, the bike fish tailed lock to lock & I managed to stop upright but sideways. Pure luck & adrenalin. I no longer use chains with clips on a road bike.

Paranoid, however I always 'first parade' my bike before I get onto it. Indicators, brake lights, brakes, tyres etc... Touch wood I have yet to find a problem, but its one less thing I have to worry about when I twist the throttle open..
