Doing another run of t-shirts and polos

Hey guys, we run out of 20th anniversary t-shirts and polo's real early in the day. Debbie has talked with the printers and they are happy to do another run. Not sure on prices, Debbie will have all the info.

email her on Debbiec@greydc.govt.nz if your keen.

take the time to thank her for her efforts at the same time, remember - no debbie, no street race!, shes our rock!!

Blind eye to booze ban?? Just shows what we are up against on the coast, our newspaper is the soul destroyer of our community. If there is a little bit of negativity to be found they will find it. The article go's on to say how the organizers and police ignored the town centre booze ban as people were drinking on footpaths outside the pubs in a sensible manner. It then went on to talk about the big presence of the satins slaves motorcycle gang? I dont remember seeing them??

makes me angy, thanks for scanning the pic muzz!
Are they moaning that fact folks were drinking sensibly, there was no trouble, and a they were unobservant and did not notice there were 3 distinct patch's that would be considered to be gangs, I personally saw Satans Slaves, Epitaph riders, (which had me surprised as I thought they had patched over to Devils Henchmen) and a I think the Lost Breed patch, they were all together, seemed friendly enough when a couple of drunks started talking to them in the bar and were generally well behaved, where is the problem. Oh of course there were the other patch's you know Ulysses, Plains MC, Waimate MC, and those really dodgy shirts I saw with Kiwibiker all over them.

Meh what wallys, someone who lives in the area should write to the editor and point out what they missed, and ask what trouble there was in town related to the event, bloody none I bet, in fact I would go as far as to say aside from a few idiots in clapped out pieces of shit cars I saw (that would have to have been local) it was a well organised, well behaved event. Hell really not unlike most motorcycle rallies.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Spot on mate!! the quote from police was "They can be arrested immediately but in an event like the street races officers have the discretion to warn them first" "police were happy with the behaviour and had there been any problems the liquor ban would have been enforced in full" "A blind eye was turned because it was such a great crowd".

I cant believe it was the major story of the weekend?? they seem to have missed the point. The article eventually mentions how the town pubs and hotels were very happy with their weekend takings and was actually positive. but the headline just sucked!!.

at least they got the picture right - buckets. Normally they fuck it right up.

I rang the newspaper today & had a wee word with the Editor, pointing out that they had focused on the one negative aspect of an otherwise perfect day.....when really he should have been praising Greymouths largest event & the legion of volunteers who made it happen. He offered no comment.

    good on ya mate.

Im not 100% sure how much the paper make or donate from our streetrace. - they do print our programme and do an editorial leading up to the event so im not in a position to approach them and its not my job as club captain to do so. but it is disappointing from a personal point for sure. my opinion on this is my own and not the opinion of the committee. Ive had issues with the inaccurate reporting without apology of our newspaper for a long time.

Freedom of press as they say!!
