I wonder if a relocated one eyed cantabrian would be welcome on the ride?

Not that good of an idea for a newbie rider. The hill is narrow and boy racers regularly use that as a race track. Also mothers doing school runs in their off roaders (that don't go off road). If your going to do that run then make sure you have an experienced rider with you until you get to know the place.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

I'm already pretty confident with the straight road/motorway riding seeing as the Wellington to Palmy road is pretty much a straight line. If I recall I sat around the 100-110 mark most of the way with the occasional car pass thrown in. No dramas there.

Haven't done any twisties yet tho so the Paekakariki Hill Road could be a plan for this weekend weather permitting
Hey Marine, If you want an experienced rider to go for a ride with, just PM me. I am always up for a ride and quite happy to show newbies some pointers. We have a group of us who do the Wellington Tag game regularly that get together for a tootle over the Takas for coffee on Sunday's. Again, you quite welcome to join us. Just keep an eye on the threads.

    Cool

Im in Wellington City (not sure if people who live in the Hutt or whatever can choose different on these forums?) in Newtown. I work in Thorndon so get a total of 30minutes riding a day to work and back (and its all inner city riding ). Not nearly enough for my liking.

Getting to meeting spots in the Hutt or where ever isn't a problem tho.

Nothing wrong with getting lots of inner city K's under your belt. Probably better that way than the other. Inner city riding teaches you to keep your wits about you. Folks that don't do inner city very much sometimes can't handle close traffic very well.

    Left eyed or right eyed??

Just turn up at the meeting spot which is the carpark at Avalon Park of Fairway Drive, just over Kennedy Good Bridge. People start to arrive there from 6pm onwards. Ride usually leaves around 6.30-6.40pm.
    See you there.

    Heya Bren

Lately its been 20-30 but depends on the weather. If its crap its only a few hardy ones...
Kapiti riders meet at Mobil Prm (by the lights) around 5ish for a 5:15 departure...normally a fairly loose arrangement but if you let us know you're coming we'll wait for ya.
Weathers not looking too flash for tomorrow tho
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
