I'm after a length of angle.
30mm+ 6mm thick and 70mm or more long.
Does that make sense? (I've been drinking)
It won't be much to anyone who has such things lying around but would help with what I have on the brew now quite a bit.

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
my own fault really.
If you are prepared to pay...try Ulrich. the alloy ladder place almost opposite Petone Indoor Bowling.
Life is a lesson-if I bother to listen
Do you have a scrap metal dealer in the area. Good one down this way behind Greenwood St McDonalds in Colombo St. They have seen me right a number of times. Scrap Palace is the name![]()
Scrappies here aren't that good & the big one doesn't sell to public anyways. Ulrich is ok but their ally they generally have in the off bin isn't free machining, but ok for brackets etc.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
I've a good guy in CHCH who supplies short lengths, small plate etc. I got hold of him through a large Alloy merchant who only sold full lengths, sheets and he recommended him. May be worth calling the big-uns in your area and asking who supplies small bits.
Hmmmm alloy .....
Compare Pornography now to 50 years ago.
Then extrapolate 50 years into the future.
. . . That shit's Nasty.
Cool shit, Thanks for the help people!
I'm sorted now anyway, went around to a mates today and he happend to have EXACTLY the right sized piece sitting in his scrap bin!!

I had 2 pieces of exactly what you wanted sitting in my scrap alloy bin......

"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
I've had the same problem.
I needed a bracket for my remote reservoir for the rear shock, and ended up buying a 2.4m length when I needed only 10cm. And then it wasn't the right profile or thickness anyway; it does the job, but it's less rigid than ideal, so I may end up junking it and fossicking around for some offcuts to build a new one.
Sometimes engineering places can help. When I replaced the R/R on my VFR750, I asked Brent at Spectrum where I could get a small offcut of aluminium plate, and he pointed me to an engineering place just around the corner who let me poke though the bin for a suitable piece. I can't recall (it was 7 or 8 years ago) whether it was free or a few shekel-dollars, but it was very handy, and perfect for my needs.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
I had the same problem just looking for 6 or 8mm alloy plate a few weeks back.
The scrapers at the bottom (left) side of the Nguaranga Gorge we're pretty helpfull. Lot's of good quality 2 & 4mm pieces, including angle, but not really any thing thicker.
Ended up going to Kia Ora Sheet Metal on Adeliade Road. Best thing I ever did!!! Great guys in there, very motorbike friendly too. I got a piece of 5mm sheet off them for 15 bucks. And got them to weld a couple of tabs onto my frame for my new hangers. The welding was AMAZING!!! A guy called Kevin did it. Highly recommend these guys!!!!
BUT... I do need to track down some 8mm Alloy from some where. Kia Ora don't have any that thick. 2 pieces @ 300mm x 150mm.
Would love to make the new hangers out of Alloy, but might have to use steel if I can't find any thing else soon.
Gingas get life...Why don't murderers and rapists?!
