it does get easier - I like riding in groups - so long as you trust those riding around you - it always helps if you can work out what they'll do in any given situation.. !
Well said. Keep your act together and the rush is like nothing else.

The first time I rode in a group (back in the 70's) I thought all hell had broken loose, but fuck, what a buzz. You can smoke pot, drink piss, pop pills, shoot smack, smoke P, snort coke or fuck the missus (if you're bored) but riding with 300-odd Harleys just pops ya socks.

If you're gonna go non-denominational then 300 can reach into the thousands and 'incomprehensional' works its way into the vocabulary.

    ACC, fuck 'em.

    Never a truer word spoken.

I was there for the birth of both my daughters (now 19 and 17) and when I look at them now, thinking I used to wipe their bums thankful for all the fingers and toes, I just know that all the sleepless nights, empty bank accounts and missed parties were all worth it.

Every minute, every cent and every little mess.

You think you're in love now? Oh boy...........just wait.

Yeah was bricking myself before I left the house, then when I got to the start I was like "what the fuck am I getting in to!" then.... I met a few cool people, made me feel at ease (sp?), I had a nice loud harley on my tail and it was all on after that. LOVED IT! Will deffo do it again.

Thanks to all for making it a great first group ride for me!!

    What an awesome day !!
Bikes converging from all directions to gather at the Silverdale autobahn, no idea how many. Maha got up and like a pro briefed all on the direction and discipline of the ride. By the time we had turned around at the Silverdale junction the size of what we were putting on hit us………….it must have been close on to a kilometre of motorcycles, all shapes and sizes from 250’s, scooters, Harleys, race reps, cruisers, trikes, even a few of the mighty GSX1400’s!

The ride was difficult to manage, at the front we thought the varying speeds we were doing would give the pack the opportunity to ‘bunch up’ at each lane change, off ramp or intersection. It was obvious this wasn’t happening on the southern motorway turn point, I saw some poor bugger on a scooter flat tack waving at us to slow down, plus others. 50-55k was maintained all the way back into the city to assist all to ‘catch up’ (big lesson for all ‘huge group rides’ is to crawl for a few k’s after a change in direction).

At the domain, what an awesome sight! Bikes kept coming; they kept coming for over 30 mins!! Over 350+ bikes parked everywhere!! The poor flag gaffer taped to the back of my bike looked very second hand after 130k’s strapped to a very kindly donated crutch! (Which was hastily returned to its owner so she could make it to the speeches) thanks mate

The heart kids were so stoked with the teddy bears that were donated; I was a little choked handing over mine.

Mom, Maha, Les, Phil Goff and the Green Mp (sorry dude forgot your name for the moment) spoke of our plight and did so to great effect.

Thanks have to go to Mom, Maha, Mully, Gremlin, Miss.L, PhantasmNZ and of course my flag bearer Dean (pillion) for an awesome job today.

Apparently my back has been made famous by TV1 (not checked it out yet) so I shall be selling my Hi-Viz vest on Trade Me with a reserve price, that is yet unheard of, for safety gear and it’s undoubted sought after desirability.

Thanks to all that attended for an awesome turn out and a prelude to what will happen in Wellington next week.
