Stoney, if you made a promise that you'd pay for any damage done to anything you need a serious head check, what would of happened if 100 people did the same thing? What if the protest went sour and a riot happened.

I don't buy that stoney is liable and I don't see why or how the recovering of the costs should be done any other way than the official way. - By all means ask who did it, but it should be passed on to the authorities.
Missing the point a bit RM any excess the insurance Co imposes would far out weigh the cost of the repair so the owners will have to cough for this pricks damage not the insurance Co.

StoneY isn't 'liable' as you put it, he is 'doing the right thing' by the owners who provided their space for parking.

It's about keeping all who assisted sweet and showing we are accountable and responsible and not the hooligans some would wish us portrayed as.

Offer still stands for a contribution if needed StoneY.

As I said in an earlier post that got binned - if it was an issue of cost I'd chip in...but fuck snitching
Time & place dude and this wasn't it! Almost everyone was on best behavior for a reason.

If the culprit was a friend of mine, I'd give them the opportunity to front up before handing over their details!

Snitch? I've never "snitched" in my life, but then I don't make a habit of associating with f**ckwits that can't take responsibility for their own actions!

mate I would love to meet you or the westpac people on site and have a look at the damage. I have people in the concrete resurfacing/grinding business at my disposal and would be happy to see what we and my business can do to make this all go away.
There may be a cost involved but I will do it at cost if I can sort it.
Floors are my business and I do shite loads of recification work.
You know how to gt hold of me.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.

So what sort of crimes would you snitch for? Rape? Murder? You might say but that doesn't compare with a burnout. Well - it's all about thresholds / personal beliefs. You're not wrong and I'm not right.

I am sure it will be an insurance issue, I'm not naive RM

I have organised all sorts of events in the past right through to international Karate tournaments, I know how venue hire works etc

BUT we didnt HIRE the stadium...it was DONATED by my fellow Wellingtonians and the due respect that deserves is, OFFER to repair it ourselves....which 99 percent of those posting recognize and are willing to do, standing up as real contributors, not some kind of tough guy with a bone for the rest of society
    Just ride.

I'd pitch in but I've just finished forking out $1,500 in legal costs resulting from the last time I made the mistake of riding with complete fuckwits that don't take responsibility for their own actions. They don't ride Harleys either, just in case you were wondering.

    Yes that is quite right.

Our work motorcycles have an insurance excess of $33,000 per claim.

The "Let the insurance company worry about it" attitude is of little worry to the insurance company.

Must have been one of those super hard tyres to make a hole like that. And 2k - tell them to F-off you'd be luck if it was $500 to fill a burnout hole and that would be tops.

Go down to Placemakers and buy a couple bags of $25 'cold-mix' it's for fixing holes in asphalt driveways -whack it in and tell them it's done to Christchurch City Council standards ......

I'd have to say I'm surprised burnouts were not the order of the day - it's what angry (and happy) motorcyclists do!
you dont know what you are talking about. How do you know that he hasnt burnt through the topping slab(remember this is a pedestrian walkway/roof deck),and perforated the waterproof membrane .The stadium was built using special lightweight concretes.

I can't believe the amount of fuckwits here saying she'll be right, insurance will cover it, half assed repairs will suffice, I don't nark. There were rules/guidelines around this meet and if some fucker can't exhibit some semblence of self-control or personal responsiblity then fuck them, hang them out to dry.

What makes it even more despicable is that StoneY has put his own time into this and this is what he's lumped with.

Bah! This sucks both the actions of a loser and the indefensable ravings of some wankers expecting one of the most able organisers I've seen taking the fall... Not the actions of men of honour.

I'll contribute $$ if required AND how about we do another movie night and take collections? We did pretty good last time? How about the return of easy rider this time????

apart from the damage to the walkway I'm also farrking glad the press didn't get hold of footage! that 1 fuk wit could have turned the reasonably positive news stories into just a stabbing fest with video footage to show the nation
