The fast way to do it, is take the bulb out and take it into Repco and ask them what type it is, and what are your options. You are looking at $15-45 to upgrade it.
Keep the old bulb, un case the poor thing cant cope with the extra loading, and you have to put the old one back in. It's important not to touch the glass envelope, so find a little box or a plastic bag to put it in.
The most powerful upgrade option is a "High Intensity Discharge" system, but there is some question about the legality of them and they are expensive ($100plus) and inconvenient to fit, but they are damn bright, and your bike stands out really really well, even in bright daylight. Search youtube for "HID headlights".
