Great weekend, despite the weather. Good to catch up with the usual suspects and meet a few new ones. Thanks for having us Northies down your way - always good to go somewhere new(...or in the case of Kopara somewhere old!)
Hope the chooks get over the shock

We ran out of the rain past Bealey and stripped the wets off at Springfield. After a coffee and a bite we headed up the inland route to Hamner Springs for a good soak in the hot pools. Had a good run thru to the ferry this morning and now home and happy.
It was great to meet you guys, wish the weather could have been a bit kinder for you 4 & Doc & Goblin tho!

Hope you come down South & get up to mischief with us all soon....Woodstock & the annual HOT party maybe?

Well what an awesome weekend. It started on Friday afternoon when Liv & I loaded up the bikes and headed through Arthurs Pass. It was windy as hell all the way and the heavy rain started at Bealey. I was miserable when we stopped at Jacksons. I didn’t think the trip could get any worse. We headed off again after a drink and a bite to eat and rode past Lake Brunner, through Moana to Stillwater. Things were looking up!! What a nice road. And the weather even relaxed…a little. When we made it to the camp I didn’t care that our cabin smelt funny, didn’t have any power, didn’t have any hot water, had holes in the ceiling and was, in fact, the storage room…it was dry!!

So, despite the weather keeping it up all weekend I had a great time. It was great to see some of the Welly crew again (one day I’ll make it back there with my bike). I’m stoked to have made it to the famous Blackball Hilton (can tick that one off). I had a blast firing the black powder guns (cheers Phil, Doc & co.). And I’m glad I kept my arse away from Roger all weekend (sorry Roge, I just don’t swing that way, despite all the talk about gay bars).

Cheers for a great weekend guys and gals

Had an awesome weekend. What a awesome place Kopara is. Sorry we deserted yas on sat but had family to see. On leaving camp had a couple off visiters in my helmet which was a bit disconcerting. Met a dodgy couple in greymouth while fueling up and a wet looking couple in springs over coffee & a few of the chch crew passing threw. Managed to find some sunshine for a bit on the way up the coast & in westport on Saturday but bloody drenched doing the buller home on sunday. Can't wait to do those rds in the sun.

Said 'wet looking' couple almost became the 'pounded to death' couple after being stuck in a horrendous hail-storm near Geraldine!!

Stones about the same diameter of a $2 coin fair hurt - like being machine-gunned by a paintball gun - and that was AFTER we had stopped and were cowering over our bike tanks!

And even afterwards we couldn't move for ages due to the 20mm or so coating of ice/stones on the road - couldn't even see the edge of the road etc and as slippery as Rogers whatsit...
