I'm going. Missed last years so aren't going to miss this years. What is parking like at the event anyway?

Last year there were heaps of bikes, parked down the bottom by the supermarket. In fact there were heaps of bikes parked every where, on the roadside. We left ours up at the motel and legged it down.

2 years ago I parked in a car park somewhere - I'm no good on directions - where I paid $10 for the day and was able to leave all my gear there as well. Anyone know if this is a regular thing? Hoping to do something similar this year.
Why would anyone choose to drive a car!

THere are a couple of different places you can do this.

THe Ulyses are also doing it somewhere around the circuit. Search further back on this thread, you might find it............

Tix arrived a couple of days ago, camping booked, going to spend Xmas day riding down from northland.

Can wiser heads tell me what the score is WRT petrol stations on the main highways on Xmas day? Don't want to end up stranded somewhere scary and weird (Hamilton! ) as nowhere is open...

We rode down Xmas day last year. There was gas at Bombay, BP at Ngaruawahia, Te Kuiti, Otorahonga, Tamaranui, and Ratahi. Distance, Bombay to Tamaranui is 240km. Then to Wanganui about 180km.Thats the route we took.
