I'm lucky in the respect that I knew all of you before I started learning so I picked up alot about your riding styles, rules of biking and getting to know you all. Other learners have to learn that and by coming along on the Wed night rides they do learn where they should be and how to ride within a large group. They have to find their place in the pack, I'm lucky that I already knew where I would be (at the back)!!

For me, most people have seen me riding and are happy to give me advice about what I do and when I do it, thankfully I take it as such, I try it out and if it doesn't suit, I'll try something else.

I can only comment for me, but I have to say that the level of support I have had from everyone on the Wed night rides has been awesome, I know my riding ability and I do try not to hold everyone else up, but thankfully they do understand that the "L" plate is just that, I'm learning so if they do get stuck behind me, they can overtake if it's safe to do so and they don't complain about it! I understand that the level of riding varies biker to biker so there is a wealth of knowledge to be had. It is easy for the more competent riders to become complacent about learners, but just remember you were a learner once and had to learn everything we have too! Rather than bitch and moan about the riding style of learners talk to them and find out where they are in their learning and help teach them about riding safely amongst the group. Riding in a group like ours is awesome as the people are very helpful and friendly!!!!

In saying that I'm confident enough to ask for help if I need it but there could be other people that wouldn't and these are the people that need the help not just someone saying that they should know how to fit in and know how to ride. They may not know the dynamics of the group but are too afraid to ask!! Cause, come on, some of you are scary!!!
    Well said KP
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

    My pleasure.
Just done a wee ride on the old MKIII, so may bring it along on Wednesday.
So may have a spare seat, if needed.

SO where are we likely to be going?
Feel the fear and do it anyway

How about the whole summit road and end up in Sumner somewhere for a

How long does it take to get back from Franz? You can assume I will be doing it a sports bike speed and not Harley speed.
