Can't see me not having a Connie in the shed...How much does it cost to register 3 bikes & a car? Although, with a Ural I could probably do without a car...

So was reading some kb today, came across a thread for sv1000 suspension set. Was reading about the height of the forks above clips to read that stand is 6 mm. Got me thinking bout my forks and the suspension as I have had a funny feeling when turning right. So went out to bike and meassured my forks and found that the right fork was 2mm high than the left. WTF The left was 10mm thats 4 mm above stock? So after about 1 hr of working out how to get the fork down, via lefting the front of bike of the gound using a rope, I got the the two forks the same height of 8mm. In the thread it goes on to say that 8mm was the best for turn in and holding of line.
Went for a ride to see if any diff, and what ya know, to me the bike turned in to the right more smoother and held it's line better. Well it could have been in my head as I did not to my test track route (due to placing tag). I know I did not change these forks before so must have been the owner before me. What dummy to get that wrong.
Well thats what I got up to today, along with the normal work and kids.

great to find out you've had a productive day and improved your bike!
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Always mint when you have a tinker and things end up going better, had a trip to Palmy today, went here and there and picked up OS X Snow Leopard for the computer. Set that alight installing itself pretty much while I went out and took the wheels and hubs back off my car and made some final adjustments to the setting of the handbrake shoes, put it all back together, so far so good, off to do some hand brakies...

The service was underway by 10.30am and we got a call at 11.30am to say it was ready. A quick walk back, payment sorted and a new pair of summer gloves for me and we were back on the road.

Traffic was a bit heavier coming home and it was fairly windy. We stopped at Otaki and filled up with fuel, though strangely after 218k, my fuel light hadn't yet come on. I guess riding slower has a major impact on economy, as it would only take 12.37ltr, which equates to 5.67ltr/100km.

I decided after Otaki to pick up the pace a bit and all went well till I hit Shannon. I came around the sharp left-hander into Ballance St a little over 50kph, only to find two police officers standing on the road stopping traffic. Routine licence, WOF, rego check and I was back on my way.

I took the long route via Linton and made it home only about 5 minutes before Tracy. FMS!
    FMS, nice gloves
