    Drink riding

Been seeing plenty of bikes out this summer, and noticing how many are outside certain main road and country pubs... It aint just for 1 drink half the time I bet. Know this is a bit of a biker thing to do, have been partial myself back a few years....

Am wondering how many reckon its ok, and on the other hand what consequences have been seen or happened to you.

Kiwi's and booze are a fucked up mix at times, bet there's been more than a few "offs" cos of it.

Booze and riding / driving is a big fucking nono, end of story....

I like a beer as much as anyone but I am fucked if I am ever going to ride a bike or drive a cage pissed or even near the limit. I have seen so much fucking carnage caused by wankers who think that pissing it up then getting behind the wheel / climbing on the bike is 'all good'.

It aint fucking 'all good', it's being a total wanker. If you want to get on the piss, leave the vehiicle at home or stay at the place you are boozing at.

Saw a feature on One News tonight about these cunts that have been caught drink driving, some of them for the 3rd or 4th time. None of them seemed to give a fuck and the slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket they got was laugable. These idiots could have KILLED SOMEBODY........KILLED SOMEBODY......and they think its a big 'like, joke and stuff.....'. As a side issue, I noted in my local paper that a couple of chancers got 4 years each in prison for trying to stitch up an insurance company, just shows you who is seen as the real criminals, eh....same the world over...

Back on topic, as far as I am concerned, drinking and driving / riding is fucking wrong and anyone who does it for fun or convenience is a fucking arsehoile.

I've lost good people in my life through this hence the tone of this post. Sorry if my language has caused any offence but it's the way I feel.

And I dont give a flying fuck if anyone slags my opinion on this, not a fucking bit.....

I don't drink & ride but you'll often find my bike parked outside a country pub somewhere, don't be so quick to judge. Pubs sell more than alcohol- some have bloody good coffee & food at reasonable prices even if they are in the middle off nowhere.

drink riding ain't cool my dad was knocked off his bike by a drunk driver when i was 2 years old and all they got was 6months lose of licence and a $1500 fine. What a crook of shit. If you are planning on doing a tour of the pubs while on your sunday ride please please think again.

What ever I have NEVER been to a pub that sells GOOD COFFEE, food yes but coffee yeah right. They all sell it but really ya better off getting water if ya do not want to a beer, at least ya know what it will taste like.

Unless ya going to Jackson where they sell the best pies, and okish coffee and to top it off the best views, the best roads. I miss the pie run!!!!!!!!!

Mate! Don't apologise for causing offense on this issue! You speak true words....

I too have been affected by a drunk retard behind the wheel and it bites every day! Anyone who drinks and drives should be made to go with the Ambo's and Fire Crews to accident scenes and help clean up the carnage they cause.

There's no excuse for drinking and driving/riding. It only causes much pain....

pubs seem to be a good meeting place for riders....
i allways stop at a pub somewhere.. but i dont drink and ride.....
they serve good food... and allways good conversation...
just because you see a lot of bikes outside a pub..... doesnt mean they are riding with too many under the belt...

Agree mate, I'm not saying that at all. Pubs are always popular meeting places because they are well known, accessable and popular. My point is that dont get on the piss and ride your bike. I've met up in pubs and am quite happy for either a soft drink or a cuppa (if it's decent). I leave the boozing for when the bike is safely locked up.

I have even gone to work on the bus the next day if I know I have nudged it and could be over the limit, it's just not worth it.

Just keep it clean all, keep it clean

I normally have a ginger beer or a LLB when I'm riding.
