easy peasy, just give it to me for a few weeks prior to do some training first and then we'll knock the bastard off.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

How far did you get up on the Dr bart?
Not far at all. Trailwing tyres just wouldn't do it. Had 3 or 4 attempts, but didn't even get half way.

I did walk to the top though, and got these photos:

Is this the sort of thing you'll be showing us the day after the CCA?

Congrats guys. But for us Sth Islanders a bit more detail please. Does it count if you fall off halfway up? Extra points keeping your feet on the pegs?

Andy made it up first go. It's not the kind of hill where you can stop half way. You need to keep momentum.

    This doesn't count, eh Mark....

Here's a few more. Most of my photos from yesterday came out like crap. Teach me for trying to be tricky and experiment with different settings.

Those up hill ones are from the lead up to the real Cnut.

there is a difference between 'push to get going' and 'push all the way to the top'

I was already disqualified by taking the DT to Martinborough on a trailer and I was glad I did - I was so knackered (and sore - I fell off 3-4 times) by the time we left the pub I was in no conditions to ride over the rimutukas in those high (gail force?) winds.

Andy is certainley the man for riding straight up that hill - very impressive skills.
He used more energy helping me pick up and push START my bike than he did on his own ascent - thanks Andy

    Haha. Bloody trailer trash.

OK....who's going to be the first to get a REAL bike up there. Bring the KLR.

It's going to be funny next time when I ride all the way there with a full on knobbly, doing about 70kmh with ultra low gearing.

    2. Half way up the hill
    3. A Frame hut
    4. Big puddle. Deeper than it looks.
    5. Chris dodging puddles
    6. and again

Big Ups to Andy Mac, and well done to all you guys! A couple of really good photos in there too that show just how bad cnut is covered in big loose rocks - a bastard of a hill! Looked like an awesome day out!
    Cheers, Dave

    7. track was a bit knarly in places. Quite freaky riding at this height with HUGE drop offs.
    8. The end of the line
    9. Heading back
    10. Ain't that orange thing pretty
    11. An idea of the size of these things. You can just see Chris at the bottom.
    12. Must be some dust on this lens

Looks like you & Chris had a fun day out Bart - it was a mad coincidence meeting Chris in Ekatahuna; us being there the same time fuelling up after Benjah & I emerged from Route 52! Chris, it was good to meet you finally and will hopefully catch up more when JMJ & I head South on Jan 22nd!
Have a fun & safe ride on the rest of your mammoth trip mate!
    Cheers, Dave
