Haha! Tell me about it. It's 6.25pm here & the cockies should be doing their flyover departure from my area to their night time abode, soon. Hell of a racket. They fly low enough to make eye contact & squawk at ya. Too funny. Always makes me nervous when they sit on the clothes line on a wash day.
ps when were you over here, dangerous?
Out a place called Beuadesert.. got six weeks work out here.
Coudnt get any accomodation.. so i have pitched the tent for a few days...
As stated.... Australia is a nice place......
Lots of birds and wildlife to look at..

In Asia they are called a Gingjoke...
For a small animal they make a lot of noise....

Its where we stopped for lunch. and you pinched that asian waitress on the arse.
and got us biffed out of the cafe..
And that is the honest truth your honour..
Is Canungra, Kev. I used to live there. And at the end of the Binna Burra walking track. Awesome area (except for when the AJs used to do target practice across the main road... duck!!!!)
Get up to O'Reilly's if ya can. I'll be up in Bris end of Jan early Feb. So I'll try track you down.
We have a drink or too to catch-up on
came back in 2000 (been over to visit since) lived in Aspley on the north side... 20mins and into Mt Glorious, Mt Mee and out the lakes... was awesome.
yeah Mt Tamborine, used to take a hoon out there often, head in at Canungra and take the 'bush' (kiwi word) or hinterlands walk through the canvas of the tree tops.
cheers DD

Have added link. (fingers crossed it works) It's a nice spot, you can feed the birds by hand.
Springbrook & Natural Bridge are worth a look, too. Natural Arch waterfall is the spot for a plunge on a hot day.
Yeah, Canungra is an army base. Mt Tamborine is a nice scoot. Anywhere south of that area is. Inland is a little cooler & greener.
http://maps.google.com/maps?
I'm up there before you get back I think, kev. But I'll PM you when I have my days set. Will only be a quick visit to see family. But definitely will find the time for a drink with a mate.
cheers
cc
Wow! Small world. I'm from Stafford. Did you ever get out to Samford or Lakeside? The Mt Nebo ride is a good one too.
I lived in the caravan park along the creek at Canungra, then on a dairy farm at the base of Beechmont. Last farm on the road. Very peaceful.
There's a tree top walk??? Gosh, feel old now. Wish I knew this on Wed. We could of had a nice chin wag.
Did Mt Tamborine on the way back.........
Waahoo.. good stuff.....
attached a couple of pics.. think cc. rider will know where it is........
nup.. having a bit of trouble with this new site.........
Will learn how to put them in.
And that is the honest truth your honour..
Good one, kev.
Yeah, just worked out how to upload pics to an album.
Cockies heading over now.![]()
yip a suspended path in the tree tops, the bird life up there was amazing, as for walking on the ground before the tree top section hell the bloody track moves benieth ya, all kinds a criters doing there thing. How come you mention Wensday?
Yeah. all of the above, I had a 97 VFR750, when I sold it I hired a super glide and went to a rally somewere way out the back... remember running a snake over the bastard was longer than the road was wide, remember hearing storys how they wrap around ya wheels, but as I got to it I saw some flatened truck tyre marks on it *phew*
cheers DD

I've lived in South Africa for 7 years so I know what it's like. There are venomous scorpions and snakes which will kill you with 1 bite. Ostriches are common and can be very aggressive. They have been known to kill people. Lions kill people, so do elephants. Mosquitos spread deadly diseases. Cape Buffalo are capable of killing lions. Then there are leopards, rhinos and hyena. You're not safe in the water either. Great white sharks are extremely common around Seal Island, and many other coastal areas. Deadly jellyfish also thrive in those waters. In the northern parts of the country crocodiles also exist. And the greatest threat of all, is the kaffir.
My brother used to have a place in Beaudesert.
Had a fucking Huntsman on the kitchen ceiling the other morning - they don't half give you a fright when you're half asleep. A few white tails and thousands of Redbacks - had one in the barn built a web on the bike handlebars one night - bastige! And I've got to watch it when I get my home brew out of the storage boxes.... The ones I don't like are those gnarly looking tree spiders that build webs after the sun goes down - normally across footpaths or between bushes. It can be clear one minute, you go out to the chook pen or dog run and wallop - straight through a new web with an irate spider running around yr neck!!!! Haven't seen any snakes (alive) so, obviously, making enough noise around the place - mainly Dugites and Tigers around our way. Parrots - thousands of Galahs, 28's, black and white cockatoos - the bastards eat all yr fruit of the trees and chop off any shoots they can get - got 2 grape vines that got badly pruned by the shits this year - still - the dog is doing her best to keep the numbers down.
