    Basic question - oil type?

    Hi there,

I've got a Suzuki VL 250 and I need to top up the oil a little bit.

But, I'm not sure what sort of oil to put in it. My GN 250 had it written on the oil cap, so they're not all bad!

I'm sure it's in the manual, but I thought it was easier to ask on here than to dig it out of the cupboard.

    Thanks.

I think the GN took 10W40. Do you reckon that will be OK?

Probably, but I am guessing. Don't guess. RTFM.

    Yes it will be.
Just about ALL four stroke Suzukis have a recommendation for 10w40
