    Ryan's race report BRM Rnd2

It’s been a while since round one but as soon as i jumped on the RG i felt confident in beeing able to ride it fast on Saturday. There weren’t many streetstocks this time which was a shame because it was most of the top riders that hadn’t entered. Tyler and I had decided to go out in the medium group for the practice day which was about right because I caught up to the lead rider in the first round then stayed on him for the hole next session. In the third session I tried the old trick of not coming up to a corner so fast and not slowing down so much in an effort to improve my speed through Dunlop, I think it helped but I just have to remember what I did for next time.
On Sunday the only time there was a dry race line was in qualifying where I set my fastest lap of the day. Our first race was after lunch. The first lap of the race was the most interesting lap I have had in a long time with the bike sliding through almost every corner. Usually in the dry I can pretty much crack the throttle wide open when exiting corners, but it took a lot of careful control to keep the bike upright during this wet race and with Tyler fighting for first as well it was a race that was challenging in every way but I kept Tyler behind and took the win. Race two was just as exiting with Tyler again pushing for number one. Coming into the last corner of the last lap I could hear Tyler behind me, I didn’t want to let him past but I didn’t want to bin my bike by letting him push me faster. I knew I hadn’t kept enough speed up so all I could do is hide behind the fairing and keep the throttle pinned and watch Ty slowly pass me before the finish line.

Thanks Baycad services, Quality auto machinists and Autocycle refinishers.
