I went in there with a friend on Saturday. Yes, it was hot. We only went as far as the top dam. There were some quads playing in the dust above the dam - how much further can you ride?

Haha, I remember that even if my bike didn't get that far!

All fixed now, thanks to Freedom Suzuki in Palmy.

A new casting for the footpeg bracket would have been $175. They had one sitting round the workshop for less than a third.

Anyway the photos (couldn't get it to work from Picasa).

The ride in, pretty hot and dusty with a loose surface.

    Then some nice cool bush.

    The river comes into view.

Gerald scanning the river/lakebed from the upper dam, looking for bogged KLRs.

    About to head back.

Great ride guys. Bit sore today after wrestling the DR up Whariti at warp speed.

    OK, here's a few photos.

1, 2, and 3. Heading up the hill behind Shannon.

    14. By this stage Mark was getting pissed off with me laughing and taking photos (hahaha, click, haha)
    15. Not much traction with a Trailwing (haha, click)
    16. Meanwhile, on the Veestrom, (man that thing sounded nice), something doesn't look right here. Where does your foot go?

    Thanks for the pics Bart.

Nothing wrong with riding over the dam, there was no sign saying you couldn't do it.

And the pic of the stuck KLR is going to my friend in OZ with the same model, with an appropriate comment.
