Hi There, already left a thread here on 'whats your ride' thread, so will introduce again.
Im Mike from Ch-ch, been self employed for 27 yrs but now semi retired, 4 Heart attacks made me realize there's more to life than just working my butt off, so have taken 2 yrs off and brought 5 T150's and an X75 from the USA, and am rebuilding them, to keep busy, am also doing a PHD in Psyhcology.

Like many young boys in the 70's, I owned a T150, and ended up riding with a local Rotorua gang, kinda got a reputation, the funny thing was, in 1996 my young Nephew got a job in the town I lived in, and when he mentioned his Uncle lived here and his nikname was redangel, it appears they all knew who he was talking about, he rung me to tell me "Uncle Mike your a ledgend up here" lmao, guess I was a crazy biker back then. Today, I just enjoy the ride, and the awesome sound of a triple under my butt.

Something that made me laugh, I spent some time in Canada and the states, but could not get over the number of vehicles they own, apparently, if they get caught by snow, or break down, they park them in a paddock and go buy a new one.
I had recieved a 1973 T150, it was parked up in 76, with less than 10,000 on the clock, the son of the owner, who I knew, rung me to say he'd been cleaning out the old barn, at the back, he found the bike, which his Dad had forgotten about !!!!! Would I like to buy it.
I ended up buying it, I had checked the engine over, topped up the oil, filled the gas tank, new plugs etc...kicked it over, nothing.....30 kicks later and tired, checked the wiring, when I found the wires to the points had come apart, Im just wondering if this was the reason he parked it up, I joined the wires back up, kicked it over, away it went, I couldnt believe it, sounded so sweet, and runs like a dream, just need to add boyer sys to it now.

If anyone here collects Tridents, I have the full workshop manual and parts cat I can copy.

Welcome to KB! You mean it only took 4 heart attacks before you got the message? It only took Cushing's Syndrome and a wheelchair for me to get the idea that maybe I was doing it wrong...

However I'm now back into self-employment again and figuring I'm a bit older and wiser now, (we live in hope, eh?), and taking good advice from people who know about things.

I always preferred the BSA to the Triumph, though perhaps because my first bike was a BSA, (B31, '51).

Just had new neighbours move in this weekend. He's got a BMW R100S, a mid-60's Tiger 650 and a Vespa. Just waiting for them to settle and we'll invite them over for a welcome chat. They're both cops apparently so I'll be interested in what they do.

MOst definitely. Some one is saying its not his time yet. My dad never even had a second chance when he had his first one.

Thanks guys, enjoyed the read, sorry to hear that Crazyhorse, my surgen told me I shouldnt have survived my last one, however he didnt know just how stobborn I am lol, I drove myself to hospital as well, felt too silly to call 111. 2 yrs with only 4-8 hours a week trying to save my business, wasnt worth it.
Now I walk into my garage, and smile from ear to ear when I look at my bikes.

Hey redangel, many congrats to you on doing the right thing. Great to hear you got the opportunity to realise that you are worth more and then make such a positive change.

Many of us work harder than slaves and somehow belive that the financial reward is worth more than having a life to enjoy.

Best of luck with the new way forward. You'll always have an interested following when working on classic bikes.

I find it quite amazing that in such a high tech world the timeless classics still have such a profound influence on modern designs.
