Mate, been there done that, in last years thread.
in short dragging a series out all over NZ is not only expensive for the riders but it is also diluted for the public.
Answer is to shorten it significantly and to create a quicker and BIGGER event, better for the public = better for the sponsors = better for the riders = better event.

Current format doesnt work wont work and will never work, and as long as we stick doing the same thing we will have the same result and the same thread every year.

why people cant see that is beyond me, but this is only my opinion which dont count for much lol

Reasons I'm not racing at Manfield...

    1. Too slow and wouldn't qualify anyway, so waste of my time, money and effort entering. If it's the same format next year, and I've dropped into the teens over the coming Winter Series, then I'll definitely be a starter. There you go, it's in black & white and you can hold me to it.
    2. I had already planned an overseas holiday with SHMBO for April/May that must take place, and
    3. I'm pit-bitching for Ken, so can't pull out on those duties.

But I do hope it's well supported and we all have a great weekend.

There already are changes proposed for 2011 since 12th April 2009 for Superbike..

    http://www.motorcyclingnz.co.nz/down...0th%202009.doc

    One key rule is this

Tyres. W rating must be used. Only tyres on general sale to the public in New Zealand as road legal fitments will be permitted. Refer to Sub Regs as to the number of tyres permitted for Endurance races
The tyre must have an ‘E’ mark or DOT (American Department of Transportation) approval and the DOT number must appear on the tyre wall. The use of tyre warmers is allowed.
Two sets of tyres for qualifying and two races will be allowed for races counting towards the MNZ sports production Championship.

Wet tyres – In the event that the track is damp/wet the choice of tyre is at the discretion of the rider. A full race wet tyre marked NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE may be used providing that the tyre has a moulded tread pattern. Hand cut DOT approved sports production tyres and hand cut slicks may not be used. Any number of wet tyres may be used.

Then its basically an exhaust, ecu and suspension with a stock motor other than balancing

Who else? Come on rd3 had 14
Add in Ryan Hampton and Rhys Holmes as a couple of almost definites, Pete Tanner might front on the mighty 'Prila again, Sandra Stammova, Phil Derby, and if a couple of others jump the ditch or head down from Upnorf (Dobbsy on the 999, Adrian Cox) then the grid will look reasonably healthy.

What a load of bull shit it is the Nationals for a reason the fact it cost money is just part of the sport who would want to do a bunch of meetings on the same shit north island tracks the series needs cash injection to promote look at the NZ V8 series they get massive interest and entires why cant we get to the same level?

Really, so the current situation is acceptable to you?
How many entries are there ?
Will Auckland event threaten to cancel again like last year due to lack of entries?
How many sponsors have you got ?
How much money came through the gate?
And how much business was generated for your sponsors?

    Shall I go on

And you think the current format and organisation is ideal for a NZ National championship event.

I think I do know what Im talking about and the previous years prove it.
Ive run out of fucks to give

What Sane business would throw money at it.........big money? to get it even close to the V8s.

the format is wrong..........proof ? Paeroa and Wanganui there is proof, two motorcycle events that get massive attendance and exposure, why dont these people go to the Nationals, why arent there thousands of people at the nationals ? because its dull and boring to them (not to me but to the masses) make an event a BIG EVENT, get the people, make it a day of variety and attractions for all sorts of people, trade shows, face painting bouncy castles, bands, bars, wet T shirts I dunno anything !! what is there for the kids and the ladies ?

and the sponsor dollars will follow which will improve the sport all the way to the poor broken arse racers
