I wrote my wifey a song and sung it to her to the backing track of "Riders of the Storm" by The Doors.
It was called "There's a Lady in my Heart".
I'm pretty certain I saw a tear in her eyes.........

My girl has gone away for the month but secretly left a very nice present hidden inside her helmet with a little message for me, to be honest I was absolutely stoked! She's in Thailand so I wrote up an ecard thing with a valentine miss you theme and message.

Don't usually think twice about this day really but why not eh!

I was rostered to be working today, but I had a couple of days off mid-week. The Moll wanted to see the pompeii exhibit in Welly, so I secretly booked us some accom and a couple of tickets to Te papa to be collected at the hotel reception when we checked in. I sprung the news on her last Sunday in case she had decided other plans for my days off, and she was happy enough. Then she said "I suppose you want to take the bike".

Being the wonderful gent that I am I said "It's your trip you decide, we can take the car if you want." and being the awesome wife that she is, she said "Let's take the bike, I think I'd like that."

Was an awesome ride down on the Tuesday, with plenty of stops at all the rest area places that I've always thought looked interesting, but always driven straight past in the cage. Weather was primo. We got all of our assorted paraphernalia into the two saddle bags and a small backpack bungeed to the bitch bar.

Had a good time in Welly, ride back was a game of two halves with weather total crap from about Bulls to Waiouru. Stopped for gas in Waiouru and the Moll looked completely miserable, freezing cold and soaked thru. I wouldn't have blamed her if she had sat down in the caltex station and demand I go get the car and come back to pick her up. But she soldiered on. Oddly enough the weather was pretty good over the desert road, and we were all smiles by afternoon smoko in Turangi.

She says she enjoyed it and is still mad keen for more trips, so all good a fairly successful V day all round.

2500 kms and still 4 days to go till the 1st month is up since we got the bike.

I gave out chocolate love hearts to the many (and I mean many) couples that cruised down Monaco for coffee. Busiest day ever and there was a lot of love in the air. Awesome day and I got to ride my bike.

    Well Shite....

My Valentine is off to the Ranch Bar and Grill in Te Anau for roast of the day, and glass of wine having a fun evening with her sister....The Florist in Te Anau would not answer the phone for the last couple of days, the Jewler who had a special piece I was eyeing up for her, sold it just before I went to buy it....and its freaking minus 5 and snowing out side.....
