    Nice slippery ride.
Those westpac guys are unbeleivable. I was cringing watching them land to pick up the poor fella. Top gun pilot
That green quad looked stuffed down the bottom of the hill too.

There were two guys on some grunty sounding Kawasaki quads riding like maniacs....ran me off the trail passing where there wasn't room, one of the lads said it was one of those two that came a cropper, you can almost spot the people that are gonna get hurt ......for the record my dislike of going down steep hills is still alive and well after a runaway crash at that first steep hill......

Was a really good ride! For the first time I felt I needed a bit more out of the little Ktm! It felt a bloody flat all day!
Its going fine but I'm gonna have to jet it a bit less rich, give the power valve a quarter of a turn, and maybe have to lash out for a $30 dollar plug instead of an $8 dollar one!

Ah well my new riding buddies where great! Xen, Oldschool, Hamdog and jinxcy met up at the BP and we traveled down together.
We put the Gazebo and KB flag up on the ute and Climintie, Flying Cr and Noobi found us as well! great bunch, great day! Thanks lads.

There was nothing to hard there scott, good track mate!! I actually made it up all the hills without arsing off once for a change!
Finally getting the hang of, less throttle = more grip LOL!! Hard to teach an old dog new tricks Aye!!
We didn't get a final loop in as the waiting time was a bit long on some of the bits others found a bit technical, that first traffic jamb was a monster, but it is a trail ride so thats all good!!
I guess you guys decided to close it down when the river bank got so rutted very few could make it LOL!! That was my only blue of the day ended up with my butt in the river!

    Cheers scott great day!!

Ah well thats my ride report! Cheers all!
Btw Geenmachine it was me that tooted at you when you where waiting in the way out I recognized the ute from your description!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

they came ripping passed me, at the start where you droped down into the first little bush, just squeezed me out the way.

I had an incident free first loop, second loop was going well, alot faster, all the way up to that bad accident, was all good from there till I hit the river crossing, didn't have enough momentum and got stuck had to drag the bike back into the creek, and run at it again.
I was stuffed after that, as you head up through the bush and out at the top you go down the steep hill throught the gate and up steep wooped out hill thats where I flipped it, had to roll back down to the gate to restart the bike, had another crack got almost to the top and flipped it again
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Nearly didn't go to this ride as we spent Saturday with KTMboy on his adventure ride. Woke up at 6.30 to heavy rain so rolled over till 8.30, when Sophie demanded I get up and take her riding..... First loop was a bit of a challenge for her, but she made it up and down all the hills completely on her own, passing a lot of horizontal "better" riders in the process. The track was simply stella in the afternoon, and while Sophie is still a bit tentative on the steeper down hills, she fair flew up all the uphills and has really got the hang of using the clutch to control drive, while keeping the revs up... VERY proud Dad........ AND she's already cleaned her bike and riding gear......

So, thanks to KTMboy for a sneak preview of his new adventure ride on Saturday and to Scott411 for an awesome Sunday.. Two beaut days riding..... Life IS good....

I went through exatly the same thing with the Cr250 ( good bike in the right hands) similar horsepower to a 450 4T (49-51 horsepower ish). I was always tentitve on the gas and it would get away from me every now and then. After many years of karting (I know 2 smokers pretty well) therefore a 2Smoker it had to be, so I could do all my own work. I've only been riding trials/MX for 3 years or so and with the japs going out of 2smokers that only really left an 03 Ktm in my price bracket. I looked at the 250 and 300, then discovered the 200 had a 125 size frame with good torque and horse power. The 250/300 share the 300 frame and the 125/200 the 125 frame. If I was going to step down might as well go the whole hog so I went for the smaller chassis (125 size) with the 200cc 42 horse smoker in it for torque. Bought a 03 200exc then another for to replace my sons CR125, then a good deal on the 08 came up. As you can probably tell I bloody love the thing! Good enough for my fat tired old arse! LOL!!
You should have come and found us I don't mind swapping for a loop??

I am not saying you should get a Ktm by any means as a Wr or a 250 4T would be good as well, but ride them all then choose!

Really just saying I was in the same boat as you and going smaller made me enjoy the sport so much more and at my age/experiance winning isn't an option so it worked out good! Do it mate big cc's on the side didn't make me fasterer! LOL!!! you won't regret it!
