The format is wrong, they need other forms of entertainment to attract families. There is currently nothing to do for mum and kids. There is a lot of competition out there for entertainment dollars, and just being a one trick pony (bike racing only) will never cut it these days. Due to the nature of my current job, I travel to events all over NZ every Weekend, and quite frankly compared to most other events, the nats have a very droll atmosphere...if your a spectator.

Shaun, how many riders/individuals wanted a rule change to more production based bikes for the supers? What was the %? What exactly was the outcome of their requests? And you wonder why they are upset with MNZ?

Can someone tell me why we go through this same shit every year? Why we get on here and complain about our series?
Why does MNZ have to run the Nationals?
Why can't there be a stand alone organisation that runs it, and they are accountable to us. If there is a problem, we then complain about it and changes have to be made.
What exactly has changed in the Nationals in the last 20 odd years, apart from decreasing numbers??
We all talk about trying to fix it, when no one is prepared to sit around a table and actually rectify it!
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??

The word Fault is prolly a bit hardcore (not that you said it man) but perhaps ''responsibility" for the event and its success or otherwise rests with MNZ ?

Rests with MNZ yes. But all riders were notified re the plan, and jack shite replied why< because they all want some one to wipe there arses for them

Why invest your time and energy to help people that are not prepared to get off there buts and do some spade work

And very soon, I am sure some License holders involved in this thread, are going to be recieving at least warning letters from some where RE, " Bringing the sport into dis repute"

Carefull with your choice of blaim Team

You reckon mate, Im rather expecting them to ring a few and take some of these ideas further, that would be the sensible approach. Like all we need to take comments constructively I think

Which is why every year we keep saying the motivated people should be sitting around a table to rectify the situation!
And that had Nothing to do with MNZ, so how is it always there fault?????
Who said that letter of yours was MNZ's fault Shaun?

alotta people are flat out scared of nationals. I manned up and am getting better results than i would club racing.

Sure the times are faster and theres more fast guys, but for the most part im not at the back (just) and not at the front, so its all the same.

Yep, if you aint pushing yourself then you aint learning anything!! I reckon I learn more when I have a faster rider in front of me and I am pushing to get past them/keep up with them!

Yes .... and at most "CLUB" meetings 30 of the 35 starters in 600SP are faster than me !!!

Going on Str8 Jackets logic that means you have a teacher to student ratio far superior to any other learning experience in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't be racing if it wasn't for:MotoMart, Pirelli, EBC Brakes, Ripecoffee.co.nz, Slotmedia.co.nz, Totalbodyshop.co.nz and Wurth
