Smile Absolute beginner! BSH advice welcomed... (sharkbait)

Hi All - after years of telling myself I will learn to ride I have finally taken the first step. My other half is a well seasoned rider and used to much bigger bikes than I could ever contemplate! I have almost in my possession a Suzuki GN250 which is perfect for me being vertically challenged. I did a CBT in the UK about 5 years ago and passed a theory test, but ran out of time to complete my testing before we emigrated. So have to start again here.

Can anyone tell me ?? Where is the best place to go to do Basic Handling Skills test in Dunedin?

And for a first bike tour round SI NZ in March, (I will be pillion this time) where would be the best place to go for a few days?
I would appreciate any advice!! Cheers

Good choice for a shortie, I had one, but now I have a Suzuki Intruder 250cc which is even lower that the GN250 - awesome as I like to have both feet flat on the ground.

    Welcome to Kiwibiker.
Not sure where to do the BHS Test down there, but as a Mainlander I reckon a great trip for a couple of days for you is to:
Head over to Haast via Alex (the way to get there is over to you), and then up the West coast to Hokitika, then across to Christchurch via Arthers Pass, and back down....

Or continue up the coast across to Reefton (First town to get electricity in nz), then across to Hanmer Springs... Rest in the hot pools.

Then take a short 113k hop across to Kaikora for some Cray fish(that takes about 2 1/2 hours!!!!) and down SH1 to Dunedin.....

Can you tell I miss touring around there?????
