Yep. Thought 7 would be a good time. I don't do early too well .
Stop at Tirau to fill bikes and bellies then on to Pearoa. I didn't make it to the racing last year so does anyone know if the rugby club still do the gear storage thing?

Did a day trip to Waioru/Ohakune for work yesterday via Napier/Taihape Rd ( in the car). Sealing gang had just laid another 10 to 12 kms of the black stuff past the look out, plus a whole lot more done on the 'other' side as well. Won't be long and and it will another great ride ( Taihape Taupo home) on a road bike that is. Only about 20 kms of gravel left to do.
While on the subject of gravel, beware Ormondville Rd. Came back that way from ACC protest on Tuesday night and encountered 6 areas where resealing has been done in the last week, and as per usual for the wankers that put that stuff down, in that particular part of the country, NO SIGNS saying new seal. Must see if it is Higgins or Tararua Roading, or someone else. When ACC is finally screwed and we have to go back to sueing because we have had an accident due to their neglegence, we will know who to sue.

What a good day yesterday was, Mark Alvin and I shot up to Paeroa nice ride to we got up in the hills and then we couldnt see your hand in front of ya face so we tootled up to Taupo, but after Taupo it was brilliant. Races for me was not good as we found it hard to get a good vantage point, the pit area was good could get around and have a good look at the bikes, Food area's were good. Rode back with Alvin, Mark decided to go up to Auckland after, Ride back was bleeding marvellas Alvin behaved himself we got heaps of blings from the HP's but a fantastic ride and brilliant weather, Thanks All and Mark.

I can't believe that you'd never been to Paeroa before, G. Certainly not hard to find, though, is it? If you go again, for a change try the 'long' way. Instead of following SH1 after Wairakei, head straight for Rotorua, go to Ngongataha, take Pyes Pa Rd, skirt Tauranga and come out on SH2 at Bethlehem, then up to Waihi and through the Karangahake Gorge. Comes out straight into the centre of Paeroa.
Is a bit longer, but more interesting than all those boring straights you get going up 1 and 27, etc.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yep. Cheers guys. Came home the back way through Te Awamutu, turned off at Kihi Kihi then out into the sticks, past Mangakino and then Taupo. Road was in good nick but the HB were certainly out in numbers.
It'll take me a couple of days to wipe this grin off my face.

The hill by the hair pin is a good vantage point...lots of KBers there too usually.
So what's next, after breaking your Paeroa virginity, G?
Anyone going to the Nationals at Manfield next weekend?
