Always amazed at how many scream "it's their life, leave them alone you PC bully" and other assorted and associated bleeding heart liberal comments.

But just to remind us of the democratically PC world we live in, the OP is fully entitle to their opinion as well.

    So there.

Personally I think those without all the gears on are moronic cunts, but that's MY opinion...

The fact that it is legal is the problem that needs addressing.

Actually, laws tend to be for the greater good rather than the individuals.
No matter how selfish one is, one does in fact live in and is part of a community. As part of that same community, whether you like it or not, that gives me the right to say "nah, I wont support that idjut if s/he chooses to do dumbarse shit that ends up in tears"

As you have the right to tell me to get stuffed and continue on your merry way with no regard for others.

My view of why I asked the first question is simple, and not aimed at anyone in-particular. Except the rider on Friday night.

Putting aside the ACC bit and the" oh no, not another do gooder trying to tell me what I should be doing" responses.

It was not just the fact that she was wearing no gear at all, it was not the fact that she was lane splitting ( I was ) , it was not the fact that she took her eye off the traffic to wave at me.

It was because she was was not lane splitting, she was riding like a complete ASS, weaving in and out of 80k traffic across all 4 lanes at speeds over 120k ( and yes I can tell when someone is doing over 40k faster than me ), wearing only a tee and shorts, and riding with one hand looking back waving, while still weaving.

Justify that style of riding, and I hope you did not go on the ACC rallies, because if you did, then you did not go to stand up for bikers, you only went so people could pay less for being an ass.
Please Mr ACC, my 1300cc bike was passed by a 400cc bike on a track day, can I have my fees reduced ?

I hope you had fun writing that but it doesn't actually add much to the debate

Your last 4 words bear some examination though. "No regard for others".

Wearing , or not, of gear, has no impact on others (spare me the bleats about the poor emergency crews and the imminent rise in ACC - one is a job choice and the other is based on political ideology).

So I repeat - resist the urge to pass laws designed to save me from myself

I thought you were talking about twots, not twats. (sp?)

Coefficient of friction of a twot varies widely.

    Steve
"I am a licenced motorcycle instructor, I agree with dangerousbastard, no point in repeating what he said."
"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

    I disagree entirely.

    That's good Big Dave.

    I like it and agree.

Nice. The troooble with legislation is it's B&W and there are many shades of grey in the right answer.

    Thanks. I will join.

You do need some basic legislation in place to protect everyone else.

Helmets and speed limits are a good examples.
