Last night getting ready to head out on a twilight ride with the club(You Manawatu lot the weather was mint)

so off too fuel up the quick snack at subway,Park the bike and there is plenty off room

Well it appears not,just as I was recieving my order....an Asian Lady comes up too me and say's is that your bike out there(me thinking cool she digs my ride)well that thought soon dissapeared as for when I turn around all I could see was a People mover Parked where I had parked my bike"my very much beloved bike"

She is telling me sori sori I didn't see your bike(FFS its only bright fucking yellow I am thinking)

So picking my bike up I can already see around $1000 worth of damage..

and best off all not a single mack on the farings......at least I can still ride this weekend.......I did thank her for comming into subway looking for me the rider/owner we have exchange details and she is insured so I hope it all goes smoothly

Sucks doesn't it? I wouldn't mind taking a look at your stator cover, as I may be able to repair it. Clutch lever too if it's not bent. Good news the fairings escaped damage.

just sent off a parts list for prices etc too Kerry so will be getting the insurance companies too deal with it as I just rang the lady and she would rather go through insurance company thats sweet as at least its being sorted and show's that the phone number she gave me wasn't a dodgy one

Yeah, Bloody foreigners. If it had been a Kiwi they wouldnt have been insured and they wouldnt have gone into Subway to find the owner!!

And I am a kiwi to. About one of the 50-60% who have insurance. Good result overall

You're lucky - every time I've had a car/bike fucked over in New Zealand it has been by uninsured drivers thanks to the third world policy of no mandatory insurance we have here.

Hate them carparks. So many drivers just swing on in without looking for bikes. Any drivers like that deserve a careless driving charge. Often the at fault party is all sweet and lovely at the scene then baulks and denies fault with the insurers. Police attendence if possible is always desireable to ensure an independent report is written. Insurance companies can then use the police report to back you up (they have to pay for a copy from the infringement office, not through you or the officer involved).

yeah crap happens .. but at least she was honest , has insurance and the bike will be repaired .. great result really, it could have been soooooooooooooooo much worse

Basically All sorted Now,the Insurance company had all the paper work by 9am yesterday and within 30 minutes it was all approved86 is going to take the bike to kerry's too be repaired while I go and spend the next too weeks at work

yes Mel and I had a bit of a chuckle about the situation at home last nite when I said to Mel that the poor lady must off been a little scared when she approched me I was my leather pants and wearing my grumpy Tee-shirt....

At the end of the day it was an accident,the lady admitted fault,by telling me she was distracted by the crying bady(which could be herd when we were looking at the bike)Any one who has kids knows how distracting they can be in a car,

The worst part about it is that I have only spent 2weeks with my bike since october and spending thousands on bling and performance in that time,now we are seperated again

Park it right in the middle widthwise and slightly outwards so that the end of your bike lines up (or even slightly portruding) to the ends of the cars next to you. That way when someone is cruising along to find a parking spot, that driver can clearly seen that spot already has something in it.

Lots of bikers park their bikes really far in and this gives an illusion of an empty carpark when viewed from the sides. Drivers will plough into the carpark at 100km/h to prevent it being grabbed by other drivers. By that time, it'll be too late to brake when they see your bike inside it.
