    Petrol prices are getting ridiculous!

Went to fill up at BP Paraparaumu today and saw the price of BP ultimate had hit $1.92 per litre!!!

These prices are staggering!!! There doesn't seem to be much protest or media coverage about it nowdays but they are getting pretty dang close to $2 a litre again.

I don't know about anybody else but the cost of living and petrol prices are getting a bit obscene!

With you on that one Toaster. It absolutely sucks. Our total petrol bill a month for our vehicles is about $600.00 and incresing at the same speed as they raise their prices. And thats mostly commuting to work for us both. Would love to take the bike in more, but need a car to carry things for work most days, and winter is ruled out with black ice.

When gas got to $2.20 / litre it was almost undoable. Always on the look out for a job much closer to home.

Ba-hum-bug. They are buggas whoever "they"are.

    I was filling up a v8 Landrover!!

Nice to be able to borrow the car, but heck its a beast to fuel. The Busa is far better, just not so easy to use when carrying lots of stuff around.

Gees the V8 sure would have stung you. Hense the reason Mike is selling his Ford Falcon XE to get his bike. Much more affordable to take out and enjoy.

What are you moaning about - many people pay more than the price of petrol for water in a bottle when they can get it free from a tap!!!!!

Try paying for fuel when your car drinks a minimum of 16L/100km. That's when it's NOT on booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooost.

Outside the UAE and the USA, I am pretty certain the the price if fuel in New Zealand is really not that bad.

Germany is €1.38,(NZD 2.72) Austria €1.10, (NZD 2.17), the cheapest I have ever seen is Croatia at something like (the equivalent of) €0.95 (NZD 1.87), and 2 of these countries have highway taxes to pick up the shortfall lost from the cheaper petrol.......

Sad as it is, it will hover around this price from now on, it's just that as Kiwi's we are used to having cheap fuel.....oh, and think how far it has to come!

You are correct in that Kiwi fuel is less expensive than most places I have been. But the NZ$ has remained strong at around US$0.70 so unless the price of oil has taken a hike recently (I don't think it has), I can't see why prices have crept up.

Please refer to this graph. It comes from here. 45% of that price is made up of tax. Tax that is supposedly going to fix our roads. (Ahahahaha).

So in reality, the cost of the product is just over a dollar.

same old story with this bumhole country, you pay through the nose for a product or service that is completely inadequate and lagging behind the rest of the world.

Yep Raumati to City 5 days a week on the bike. Getting harder to have any extra fuel for the weekend pleasure riding.
