Petrol prices are getting ridiculous!

Please refer to this graph. It comes from here. 45% of that price is made up of tax. Tax that is supposedly going to fix our roads. (Ahahahaha).

So in reality, the cost of the product is just over a dollar.

The graph is missing ACC cost. Yep, we do pay ACC via fuel too.

It's just the market at work. if you don't like it, find an alternative product or supplier. Having a whinge is all well and good, but isn't going to change anything.

Oh, and crude prices have been pretty steady around $80 for a while - although I seem to recall we buy some of our crude referenced off of Tapis (not WTI or Brent etc), so that's a bit dearer at $83. Pretty much spot on the 3 month average though so no compelling reason for a recent price hike, as I see things.

it depends where in Austria, was 1.28 near Kaprun 2 weeks ago, not too bad here around 30kc (about $2.20nz for 95 octane) in Prague. NZ is nicely priced. Even Argentina last year was pretty close to NZ pricing and they have loads of Oil.

Outside the UAE and the USA, I am pretty certain the the price if fuel in New Zealand is really not that bad.

Germany is €1.38,(NZD 2.72) Austria €1.10, (NZD 2.17), the cheapest I have ever seen is Croatia at something like (the equivalent of) €0.95 (NZD 1.87), and 2 of these countries have highway taxes to pick up the shortfall lost from the cheaper petrol.......

Sad as it is, it will hover around this price from now on, it's just that as Kiwi's we are used to having cheap fuel.....oh, and think how far it has to come!

I have it on good authority that petrol is 1.15GBP a litre in the UK. That's about $2.52 in real money.

Hadnt really noticed the petrol going up. I use a diesal vanmost of the time and the price of that is creeping up again.
Just as well the bike has a tiny tank and is only for stress relief. I so would not want to be filling a big vehicle with fuel.

Yep Raumati to City 5 days a week on the bike. Getting harder to have any extra fuel for the weekend pleasure riding.

Bloody tempting at time's considering I was told yesterday to come too Aussie and work on the Rig tenders and supply ship's apparently there is a shit load of job's and they just recieved a38% payrise so that cost will be asorbed into the fuel price as well

Oooo. Pretty graphs. Of 2000. But it gives an interesting real world cost of petrol though. I want to see the 2010 repeat of that though. The last decade had some interesting price changes.
