But would you rather pay $60 or whatever less a week and drive a corolla? Or would you prefer to pay the extra and drive the Thunderbiird? I know which I'd choose!!!

Haha i drive my car for work and lose about $20-30 a week on what they pay to cover our petrol, but it's worth it cos i love my car
    Yeah, nah.

    Yep, the second choice!

And my 13 second '55 Ford truck is also fun - and gets at least 1 lkm a litre further than the T-bird...

The only catch is that you have to live in Kuwait.

A country which is quite frankly a shit-hole.

Just wondering if you've been there? Cos it's pretty decent seeing as Dads house is on the beachfront, and free rent, within the company complex and its hot enough to use the beach most the year (too hot in summer!!).

So umm.. yeah not really a shithole
    Yeah, nah.

If you think a nice house on the beach is enough to stop a place being a shit-hole then you need a bit more life experience.

So what makes it a shithole then? I've lived in a few different countries and visited many more, perhaps its you that should get out there and get some life experience? Yes everywhere is a shithole compared to NZ (shame most NZers dont see that), but it really isnt that bad. I can't see you coming up with any valid reasons for it being a shithole, if you think its similar to Iraq because its in that part of the world then your sadly mistaken because it is actually very americanised, due to their presence there ever since desert storm.

The only reason i didnt go there with them is because there is no future there for me, because unlike dad im not in a steady, well paying Chevron job already
    Yeah, nah.

It amazes me how short sighted we are, we all breathed a sigh of relife when the Ressesion hit the fuel prices, fuel prices dropped like a perverbial stone, particurly as the Speculators on the Fuel Futures markets got chased out by Banks folding World wide.
Any plans any one was considering for alternative fuels got shelved or forgotten, with the sudden abundance of cheaper fuel on the world market.
My prediction is we are going to pay much more this time around, particurly if we do not as a Nation look to becoming more self-sufficient, in our own fuel supply, and less needy on the International Markets for supply.
We have vast coal reserves and not all of it is on consevation land, Coal to Gasoline is old technolodgy, by applying modern technology it doesn't need to be as dirty as it once was.
There is also research on Algae to Oil, but I would doubt it would produce enough Oil for our countries needs, to make a significant impact, on our fuel demands.

The Up side for us as Motorcyclists, will be less cars on the roads, and probably more car drivers converting / returning to motorcycling.

    Hmmm - see your problems.
This has no effect on me personally.
I only have one vehicle and it costs 20-something dollars a week to fill.
