as sad as it is, you are correct. I know of one young lass (16) and she has amassed about 45 different lovers already and many of those were same sex exploits. To her young mind, this is cool, this is fun, it doesn't mean anything, to her it's like playing tennis. It is so not cool but that is the world some parents are creating. It can only get worse, even aids didnt' do much to deter some. The young have no fear of STD's, they just dont' care.
