Well 2 of us came from down from Kapit but only 1 Hutt rider at the Pond. (if fact even the pond was empty - must have been a sign!)
So the decision was made to flag it and head off back over the PK hill to the sunny coast
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

Hi sels. I rode past on the highway about 6.20pm, but decided to keep heading home as I could no longer feel my hands, and pulling my clutch lever in was becoming hard work! Spent the day freezing in the cold cold industrial building that I work in. Hopefully its good weather for next week. I'd like to give one of these rides another attempt. Sorry you didn't get the full ride in.

Would have been 2 hutt riders if you hadn't left early, 3 if Katiepie had heated grips

You buggered off just as I was turning off towards the KGB. I headed to the pond to see if there were more coming, but alas, t'was empty. I figured if the man with the most up to date weather forecasts in the country had buggered off, I should take it as a sign?

So I headed for the lovely, sunny Upper Hutt (I'm sure Drogen and Katiepie will back me up ) for some dinner and watched Rnd 1 of the world superbikes again (going to be an exciting session!)

It was actually - very odd. All of a sudden there wasn't a breath of wind, the sun was out, and very little traffic around. Did even consider heading over the hill on my own for a wee ride, just my hands did get the better of me. Woke up to an awesome frost this morning.

What an unpleasant reminder that winters on the way! Freezing hands, slippery on the Hill... meh. Time to invest in one of those Pinlock inserts and maybe a set of winter corduras.

Pretty much yeah. Some years a few keen ones carry it on a week or two longer but the dark and the cold gets them sooner or later. Switch to weekend rides.
