Well done Drew!
But most importantly what was his time, and how was the road and weather conditions?

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
Bowls can wait !
Hope Wilber is doing ok. Heal up Wilber.
Crashes were all over the track. There were a couple on the fast right hander after the bridge. There is a horrible patch right in the middle of the corner ya just cant miss, and it is two inches lower than the rest of the road.
Couple on the cliff hanger corner.
And Phill on the left hander that tightens up on itself just after the finish line.
Dunno about the rest.
Herald on Sunday had this to say...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Awesome weekend, thanks to everyone for making it happen. I've never seen my rear tire like that before - all the rubber rolling off, I'll be back!!
ACC - One rule, one levy , one cover. Fair to ALL New Zealand.
Well done to all the winners and the organisers. It's a great event, but the crashes/waiting took all the fun out of it for me, hence no Sunday. What's with eveyone trying so hard in practice....and so early in practice? Was there a trophy for fastest practice run or sumthin? Sounds like everyone is gonna be mostly OK though, so gotta be thankful for that.
I visited Bill tonight - he is in Wellington Hospital Ward 6, Bed 30. I am really pleased to report that his condition is remarkably good considering what he went through. Bill is in reasonably good spirits but very sore and still on painkillers. Nothing major broken I gather but some rib and back bone damage, possibly something going on with a shoulder/collar bone/arm that he is not too sure about at the moment. Basically "battered and bruised" I guess is the best way I can describe his condition at the moment. Bill said he has been able to get out of bed and walk about so I take that as being a good sign that things are not too serious, I am sure that is a relief for all of us.
pretentious moi?
Absolutely!! Thanks for the update Malcolm. Glad to hear he's not too bad and will mend! Heal up Wilber![]()
