    100km walk? Done!

    Yes indeed my lovelies,

Just back in Auckland now after completing the 100km OXFAM Trailwalk with the team Shaken Not Stirred, jeez that was fecking hard work.

We started at 7.00am on Saturday and all in all the walk took us 30 hours and 30 minutes to complete including 7 check points to replensih water and food supplies, pop blisters and general running repairs.

The terrain was paddock, track and trail with some facking HUGE hills. one in particular would have been only slightly easier if we had a ladder.

We walked all day Saturday, through Saturday night (fecking cold) and into Sunday. I celebrated my birthday in the pitch black in some fecking paddock just outside Taupo on the Napier highway....not a single beer in sight....

We all picked up some pretty nasty injuries, mine in particular will keep me off the bike for a few days but we battled through it and made the finish line in one piece.

The man aim of this was to raise money for OXFAM. Our team pledged $2,500 and we managed to exceed that so thats all good.

So thats it, walked 100kms at the weekend and have got myself a medal and blisters the size of my arse.....and that is huge.

Thanks for all the support from you lovely people at KB, all I need now is a dozen beers and a good nights kip.....oh, and a shower would be nice...phew.....

We could quite safely assume the average step (on the flat) is 70cm...
Believe me, thousands of troops march to a 70 cm pace....

This would make it 142847 steps...

There aren't many pedometers that would count that high....

Ha ha, yep mate that was me on the Close Up programme. I saw the film crew on the course but didnt think for one minute that they would put this fat bastard on National TV. The chick doing the interviewing was very nice though, shame that poor girl had to pull out at 65km but thst is still an amazing distance gawd bless her

And no, there was not a single pie in sight although I did get a sausage roll at 1am Sunday morning at check point 4........mmmm
