Health 'n' safety can get fucked

It is growingly getting harder and harder for me to do my job with the ever increasing H&S rules etc, eg: some building sites ban the use of ladders and or chain saws etc and wearing hard hats when fitting skirtings... FFS

Anyway my 'rant 'n' rave is actually about a quick trip down to new world for some goodies. I thought Id do a good thing and take my 14mt old son with me, you know gives his mum a break and a little father n son time for us.
Well I just carry the wee shit in my arms its easier than getting a buggie etc out aye. Now at the check out I put the said sprog on the low bench next to the self check out, I know my boy and he just sits there watching me, I do my shit and as I have brought 'us' some beers I need a clearance... young thing comes over and swipes her card, I look at my boy and he does the checkn her out thing and gives me a wink, I say I know mate not bad aye, the young thing stands there with a cloth and cleaner and as I pick up the boy she mutters 'health n safety' gives me the shit eye and wipes down were boy was sitting... FUCK ME, I can grantee the bottom of my beer box has more dust and crap on it than my son, poisens get placed there with ya cabage.

Next of to the Lotto counter (already put the shoping in the truck) figgered the boy was enjoying the change of scenery and people... so I take him back in, sit him on the counter, figered the old girl would like to smile at the boy... err no she says 'you cant put him there' I ask why not she says 'healt and safety... I sad thats fucking stupid, if I put the wee tike on the floor he will be up and out the door so bloody fast I wont even know hes been flatened buy the trolly boy or passing car, and asked if she could sheck my ticket and grab me another thankyou. She gave me the same shit eye I got from the young one but continued to serve me anyway, I was waiting for her to refuse.

Now fuck me dead forskin fred, I had a arm around the boy the hole time even tho I know he would be all right there, but hey beter safe than sorry hence my arm

What realy fucks me off is we are being brought up and breed NOT to think for our selves and NOT to be responsable, in fact with the every increasing rules and regs we are being told NOT to use our brains, common sence is a thing of the past. We will slowly all become vegtables as we use our swede's less and less cos of these rules etc.

But I know what its really about... its about the bunch of bureaucratic cocks justiifing their existance and over sized wages.
Fuck you H&S I have a brain and I will use it shove ya rules up ya fucking arses.
    cheers DD

You should have left him in the car with the windows shut, much safer for others that way!

Man I hear your frustration. Poor little kids these days. Not allowed to do anything that may put them at risk. What happened to Mom and Dad imparting their advice on what is safe and what is not and letting the kids try it out for themselves. Obviously not for a 14 month old, but hells teeth, kids are not allowed to risk anything these days.

I am surprised I am still alive given todays H&S rules. My kids stood no chance...

Keep doing it how you see fit and fuck em is my advice

The trouble is the rules are not there for your kid that is well looked after. It's to cover all the useless parents who don't care how filthy their snottly little shits are, or don't give a shit what they are doing. Unfortunately the rules to cover the terminally stupid also apply to people that actually have a brain, regardless if they are actually able to think for themselves or not.

Yep, H&S sometimes does take away your right to think for yourself.

You are obviously a good, caring guy who was out with his kid having some 'you' time, trouble is, the red tape encased ticket clippers of this world see you as a threat and it is a fucking shame.

I ran a shopping centre in Auckland for a couple of years, I am a trained first aider and have all the qualifications to administer CPR. However, the coporate pigs that run our malls would not let me use CPR if some poor bastard collapsed in front of me for 'health and safety' reasons. In detriment to my employment with these scum, I challenged that very vigoursly. My duty of care, my fucking right to do the right thing would be to help someone in need seeing as I have been trained to doi so. However, the health and safety angle of this company became an 'insurance issue', in other words, let the poor person die rather than let an employee try and help them and have a possible 'issue'. That was the line from their wanky risk managers.

So mate, I know 200% where you are coming from with your rant, and it is well in order.

One of the many things I love about kiwi's (and especially bikers) is their will to look out for themselves and others, cut through the crap and get on with life. Do the right thing, see thieir mates right and take care of their famillies. This is being stripped by those fucking people who enforce unneccsssary H&S crap on us, just for the sake of clipping a ticket.

You got my vote mate, fuck 'em all

yeah but mate... this minority you talk of, rules mean nothing to them anyway... why do I have to pay dog licences, chiping costs a fee for owning more than one dog? because of the terminally stupid shits that do not do the right thing and have dogs attack... nothing changes they dont pay and their dogs still attack... but hey the resposible owners keep the councils pockets full.

Interesting, I wonder how their risk profile would sit if someone did croak in that unfortunate manner, and their next of kin could prove that an employee of the mall was, trained, competent and present at the time, but had received explicit instructions not to assist. I would like to think that it would go badly for them.
    Keep on chooglin'

I know, this was my point.

But, corporate pigs see saving a life more of a risk than letting one go. No action = no responsibility = no liability. It fucking stinks mate, your observation is well grounded.

These people who make the rules are trying so hard to be Americans they have forgotten what and where NZ is.

Smiffy I'm with you.I too would like to think(cripes, now we've gorn an dun it) that the establishment would get a severe roasting for NOT allowing a trained professional to do what they are trained to do, while someones loved one died alone, on a cold floor.
Max my friend,I've never stopped to think when confronted with people in pain . I just bloody well help them as best I can.Love ya mate for doing the right thing and telling them fascist barstards to take it and shove it.Right thing by our standards that is.
Dangereous, you continue to raise your kids as you and your good lady see fit, to hell with the Gay, Childless(the natural way at least) bully boy/girl, tree hugging wankers out ther who think they know better than you do.
At 17 x 2 and 15 times 1, my girls would no sooner think of swearing at me or anyone else for fear of the following whistling whack across the ear that would descend on them like a ton of bricks.
They don't talk with food in thier mouth either.
"I don't know" is never heard here, as if it i,s someone has a sore backside.
Um is another, never heard here.
Please and thank you on the other hand is often heard here, even when they'd rather kill one another than talk civilly.
Simple really, repitition repitition and consequence.
    Works everytime.
Boring as all hell for the first 15-16 years but pays dividends in the long run.You learn pretty fast who your friends are too, the good ones back you and stop saying "it's Ok they're only kids" Quite quickly. They are the same ones who trip over themselves getting the girls to come baby sit for them cause they know there will be no shenanigans.

I feel for ya D. - today when doing Taser stuff we were reminded we had to have new pepper-spray cos the old stuff had an alcohol base (Arghmmmm, alcamahol!!) and if we sprayed somebody with the old stuff and then Tasered 'em they might burst into flames if a spark ignited the alcohol based pepper-spray.

Shee-it, if ya get pepper-sprayed and then also need Tasered as well ya probably deserve to burst into flames....

Wasn't there a thread a while back saying how the bureaucrats had decided to ban tree climbing in a school somewhere?

I sympathise. The day after Boxing day in the UK and the little one has got a really nasty cough, so The Men (Me, Dad, my 18yr old and the coughing little one, out wrapped, fresh air, snug.) where going to go out hunter gathering at Tesco... and at the same time I thought, I know I'll get some medicine for little lady. There it is on the shelf at the pharmacy counter. Some of that please. Is it for your daughter there. Sorry we can't sell this medicine knowing that it's to be used for a child under the age of six. But it says for children 2+. I know, but we can't legally sell it knowing that it will be used for a child under six. I explained that she was short for her age, Dad stifled laughter and said, come on, but no... she stuck to her guns... Now 3.5 years ago in Tesco I never had a problem with my then 2 year old... WTF!!!

Something is going very wrong with the world.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
