No he bought off us but it amazes me that if he asked for a discount on tyres wht didnt he also ask for a discount on alcohol?????
Spying? What are you on about? Maybe you misconstrue, if a retail customer goes straight to the manufacturer in another country the enquiry is then forwarded to the relevant appointed distributor in the country where the enquiry came from, for that distributor to answer as the manufacturer appointed distributor responsible for that market.
That is common practice in many industries and the business world. It happened when I worked for the Yamaha distributor, it happens with Race Tech and it happens with Ohlins. But three examples.
Anyway, off topic. But Id be really interested to know the typical markups on alcohol? Its also a little perverse how being a captive market the prices get jacked up at certain events / functions and you cant byo. If other industries jack up their markups theres an outcry.
Why is criticism often so selective?
Divide the capacity of a keg into (NZ) pint sized units, Multiply that total by $5. Even if they paid full retail for the keg there is still plenty of fat.
I'd imagine there would be more beer related criticism on a beer forum, This one happens to be a bike forum, hence people voice bike related opinions.
And having had a quick look into it.
Keg holds 50 liters
Average pint sold in NZ is 440ml
112 drinks to a keg.
$5 a pint
$550 give or take.
the perfect biker pub would have special parking for hyosungs.

"There's no such thing as a pint," he said. "It's a colloquial rather than a recognised measure. We're in metrics, have been for quite some time, so there is no such thing as a pint measure.
"Normally your most appropriate measure would be a handle and there are different-sized handles, so what you see is what you get.
Fuck me, what sort of a queer pays $8 for a glass of beer? When is a pint not a pint? When it's served at the Cock & Bull in Ellerslie. "As a regular drinker at the C & B, I noticed the new glasses straight away. This pub has always maintained it serves beer in a full pint glass - and the old glasses were exactly that (568ml for the metric folk). The new glasses are smaller. Not so small that most people will notice the difference - but a clear 40ml smaller, nonetheless. It's not a pint! Has the price dropped to account for the smaller glasses? Of course not. And when $8 is being charged for this 'pint' that isn't, that's 56c I'm being ripped off by for every non-pint that is being sold as a pint."
Just as off topic, jesus as about as off topic as it can get but i took the first steps into replacing my tired old gnashers today and first went to a denture tech, bugger me $1400 for a couple of bits of plastic (whatever),stab in the dark i reckon the actual cost of would be $2-300.
