    Why women shouldn't drive cars

Just another day in the life of a female driver.... (from Stuff)

23-year-old woman has been taken to Wellington Hospital with moderate injuries after flipping her car on Tinakori Rd in Thorndon.

Lara Carson, a student at Victoria University, was shifting house when her Toyota flipped near the Speight's Ale House.

The car landed on the driver's side and moving boxes inside trapped Miss Carson till emergency services arrived.

Once she was out of the car she was taken to Wellington Hospital with moderate chest and neck injuries.

Wellington Free Ambulance team manager James McMeekan said it was unclear was caused the crash but no other vehicles were involved.

A parked car was damaged but no one else was hurt.

Members of Miss Carson's family arrived quickly at the scene after she called them while still trapped in the car.

apparently, getting the accelerator confused with the brake pedal is quite common among blondes that drive automatics.

    What's the bet it's a Rav? A hair dressers 4x4...urgh.

I'm in the school of believers that 4x4 vehicles should be driven by people who know how to use them and actually take them off road. (not that I would want to with a Rav)

a Rav is FWD isn't it?

all they have to do is class any car with rims over 20-something inches a truck and problem solved.

or, of course, actual driver training to be repeated as part of your licence re-sit every 5 years. how doubling the length of the full test or getting 15 year olds off the road helps all the existing moron drivers is beyond me

Either 2wd or 4wd...but basically the issue of being prone to roll easily is what I was getting at.

I've heard that rumour too (hope you haven't seen the photo of my blonde hair). But to be fair, they are quite close together, and who really has time to think about left and right when you are checking out the hot guy on the bike infront of your car! Gees, the expectations out there are so high.

I love the way the report says...

"Lara Carson, a student at Victoria University, was shifting house when her Toyota flipped near the Speight's Ale House."

... like that kind of thing just happens at Speight's Ale House all the time! You know... one minute your car's tooling along quite calmly, then the next it throws it's head in the air, leaps off its wheels and lays down there in the road.

Mind you, us guys haven't got that much to brag about...

I guess it just proves that us women really shouldn't be driving at all.......... We should all be riding bikes! Right - that's me sorted.

... and doesn't it have a ridiculously low 30km/hr speed limit along there too? We are talking a narrow city street with retail/commercial buildings along each side and no sense that you would want to be going fast at all, so I am sure she has achieved a miracle by flipping her car there.
    Cheers
