Pleased to see this tag is staying in the South Island for a little longer. Looking at the stats from when it came back over the ditch, it didn't stack up very well for any South Island rider wanting to have a go at it. For example it went straight from Picton through the West Coast to Bluff, a couple of short stops in Southland, one in Central and back up to the Nelson area again. Bad luck for any East coasters and Canterbury riders fancying their shot at it!
Yes, I have been a bit disappointed watching the big jumps on it's return south, got a good mind to backtrack it to Haast.

Yea yea I know but...
Same for the other guy smokey who did it from Denneston to Bluff in one hit I suppose.
Not really showing any of central SI or west on either run. Just guys showing off their big rides is how it looks to me, heck at least when Jatz and I did the big run down to Bluff we only took it a wee way back up the island so others got a look in. Jatz could have taken it from Bluff to Picton then if we realised that was the game.
Maybe those two North Islanders just don't realise how much more to the SI there is.

Was the luck of the draw. Had ridden a fair bit of SI before picking up the tag. Was a day or two before I could post the tags, so anyone could have picked it up before I had time ta post my tags and bet me to it. Was a risk I had to take. As it was, ya were lucky I was not so rude ta put my second tag in National Park, as that was where I was before I could get close enough to an Internet connection. As it is, Winter is coming fast, so play with the tag in SI for all ya like, but ya can bet there are those in Mid NI (non-Dorklanders) that feel the same as you, having jump past them too.
The NZ tag will only stay alive if there are those keen enough to make a bit of effort to keep it moving. Having the Tag sitting idle while riders whine about it not being close enough to them, will see it die a Natural Death.
I recommendations are:
This tag will go up and down the whole Country, Be ready for when it is near-by & pick it up (don't wait on the weather, cause I don't). Hell do some real riding, see a bit more of this Beautiful Country, and pick up the Tag on the way. Anyone of you could have done the same as I have when the tag was in my area, and it wouldn't have bothered me. Would have admired ya for making the effort (and the cheak).
- Don't whine, go for a ride.
- Make an effort.
- Don't complain if ya don't make an effort & someelse does.

I have no problem with you or the other fella swooping in and picking it up, just felt you took it too far after collecting it.
Don't think you can say I wasn't participating or hadn't made an effort, I went to Bluff in the name of the tag too, along with a couple of other of its placements along the first trip going north.

[QUOTE=junkmanjoe;1129310431.................the game...............
riders need to place the tag far enough north for the next district's or towns rider to tag it and so on..... the idea is to travel the tag up the length of new zealand from bottom to top.[/QUOTE]
while it's great ride up & down the Is, I too think the tags are to far apart & if we take a look at what jmj said above we may need to cut the distance down on where we put the tag & if it's a bit thin on the ground, then we look at moving it further,

i think we are over reacting here.It happened to coincide with a Norf islander being in the south. The game will play as it plays. Its a game

I was riding all afternoon.... trail bike... crf230.... all off road, one of those fund raising rides which is why there are no tags anywhere there, fun though but now I have half of 3 farm propertys to clean off the bike.
