Thanks all for the fun and company
A great bunch of people to ride with
My apologizes for missing the last 3 before Te Marua but happy when backtracking and finding your guys on track only a few clicks down the road
A little lesson learned for me there and have a game plan so it doesn't happen again
Thanks Wannabiker for doing that leading around the back roads and also doubling back with me also
Was great to meet some new faces and also see some familiar ones
Congratulations Katie on your new bike. Bet there's still a smile on ya face
    Catch ya all next time

Good to hear it went well Darryn. Will have to get in a few social rides before I leave.

Still a great day out mate. Pleasure to meet you, you seem a real character.
If all riders keep the rider behind them in their mirrors at all times no one will get left behind. This is one of the golden rules when we go out four wheel driving. Never lose the guy behind you out of sight and make sure they can see you turning if you have to turn off the track or road in this case.
However this also means the whole group more or less adjusts to the speed of the slowest rider which contradicts with "ride your own ride" and can make a trip where there is lots of mixed experience levels and bike sizes a drag for those wanting to ride at a slightly quicker pace.
Having a dedicated TEC who knows the way and collects any straggelers or people pulled over is also a great help.

Thanks all for the company today, nice to see a whole lot of new people.

All roads eventually lead home so no worries (but thanks for waiting on the corner for me Katiepie so I knew where to turn - took me simply ages to find a clear bit of road to turn around on!). Really COOL bike BTW, it suits you

Any plans to make this a bit more regular, once a fortnight or a month?

Hey - great timing yesterday huh? Was really happy to be able to make it to the cafe in time to see you all and have a ginger beer - I'm so hard core!

Yes, absolutely LOVING the bike. Followed some of you over Haywards and turned around at the round about. Just didn't want to head home so soon. I couldn't believe it, I could accelerate!

Looking forward to joing you all for a full ride next time. You all rock!

Well there is the Ridgerunners Group, set up with just this purpose in mind. But it has gone very quiet. I tried to get a few bods together a couple of weeks ago for a run out to the Wairarapa but didn't get a single reply.
Just posting in the forums might be the best way to organise rides.
If you can think of a destination next weekend or the weekend after, post it up, I'll most likely come along and so will a few others.

woohoo - what an awesome weekend riding. Five times on the Paekok for me. I LOVE this hill.

Great to see some new riders out there and I am sure this will be a semi regular event. Like Darryn - i felt stink when i realised we had a lost a couple of riders, and good lesson to be learnt from it. Good to pick everyone up again.

Katie - what the hell can we say - yr new machine is as gorgeous as you, suits you right down to a T. The ear splitting rumble as you rode into cafe was heard far and wide!!
Go girlie - looking forward to more rides with you.

Is that 4 times in one weekend, pretty good going. It was my first time over and it was lots of fun. Can't wait to give it another good nudge.

in one weekend!!!! only been on it about 7 or eight times in total. First was about a month ago. Its a damm good ride, and you looked good on there. Nice to meet you John, and look forward to more rides together. Like Pierre said - Ridge Runners for coffee runs to Martinborough. Seems to be more of a winter event as some of the runners, tied up with sport etc in summer.

Thanks very much but I think you're being kind! You handle that Ducati very well and I'm not trying to flatter you. I don't have many details about ridge runners, how often do they ride and what's the route?
