    Sbk x

So there is a new Superbike game coming out which i only just found out about.

Demo is out its 700MB. http://www.mktgcorporate.com/BBG/dow...Demo_Setup.exe

Game is released end of the month in NZ. (already released in other countries if you want to import/download).

Demo lets you ride an Aprilia RSV4 in the superbikes and an R6 in the supersports both at Portimao.

First impressions are this game is 10X better than SBK 09. Much better feel with the keyboard. Much more content also although im not going to list it now as im off to bed but you can find out more here

Wonder if it will be joystick compatible. That is the biggest gripe I have with SBK09,..keyboard only !!

You can use joystick in sbk09 it just takes a bit of messing around. I never bothered and stuck with keyboard. Really you need a gamepad to play properly. If you have a PS3 controller with a long enough cord you can use that. I will check for joystick compatibility now.

Joystick works in menu but won't accept inputs in the gamepad option just like sbk09.

been playing it for a couple of days now... new to the game, so can't compare, arcade wasn't too bad, thought it a little unrealistic given how much you could slide etc, so once I had learnt a few of the tracks a little, jumped across to Simulation, but set it on low.

Fark... talk about a learning curve. Obvious things... there was no longer a "wheelie" button (go figure, had to figure out how they wanted you to do them) "boost" button, brakes were now two buttons (realistic I guess, but keyboard gives you precious little fine control) and the first few laps, I was wondering where the brakes had gone to, spent half the time trying to get onto the track and the other half off the track. Even Superstock, which you start in is difficult to control, so can't figure imagine what superbike will be like. Key trick is to actually feel like you're going really slow, then slow a bit more, and you're probably at the right speed.

First race was an 8th or 10th but been getting firsts since then. Luckily took a one season contract, so one of the offers for the 2nd season was the xerox ducati junior team. 2 years with them (half way through 1st year with them, 2nd season) and we'll see how the game progresses. Currently doing lap times about 5 seconds faster than second place (they're quite tentative under brakes but get good drive), don't know how that will stack up against supersport and superbike, but I don't think I'll be increasing the simulation level any time soon. Don't cut corners like tight chicanes, I got a ride through penalty

I'm pretty pro on the second highest sim setting. "realistic"/full sim is nearly impossible on keyboard without being way off race pace.

Bike setup is fairly important which is good to see, I like the way the bikes handle and for all intents and purposes - as far as a game goes they've got it pretty well covered.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
