Went from Chch to picton in a little over 4 hrs that was with two stops for gas, came back over on the Bluebrigde cost of $100 ($50- bike & $50- myself) Suggest you take your own tie downs I did and gave myself a pat on the back when I saw the state of their ones, wouldnt tie down the mother in law with them (or would i)

If you havnt been before then Sate Highway one is the quickest and easiest. Takes about 4 hours depending on how long you stop at Kaikoura etc.
If you have time, you can come home by going over Athurs Pass to the west Coast and back up the Buller Gorge. A great round trip. (or do it the other way round)

I tend to agree. Having 3 meet up points in Kapiti can get confusing (Mobil, Warehouse, Railway Stn) How about we just stick to Mobil on the highway?
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

What a great day on saturday. No dramas that I have heard about, apart from Neshi getting away on us that is. Ducky pootled along nicely, Denis? Would you consider bringing your hyperscoot next time so we can show these go fasts how a real bike performs?

I had to head home early as I had a gig that night, so didnt get a chance to extend an invitation properly...

I've marked on the event calendar an invitation to my midwinter scoff on 26th June. Details are there so if you are interested, you can check in and I'll pm you fairly soon.

Nah, not slowed at all. Ducky thinks he is more of a bike than he actually is and needs to be reined in on corners so more bits of metal thingummys dont get ground off him.
I think Im getting the hang of that road, Im sure it wasnt nearly as bad as it was last time I went over it.
Practice makes for confidence building. Can't wait until I can get out again, every time I visit the 'rapa i fall in love with it a little more.

    I love the Hill!

Although coming back I was stuck behind a boy-racer tosser...
Was most gratifying overtaking him giving him a wave

And Saturday was the shiznit, although the theme seemed to be...

Wait for the 250 to turn up, then leave.

I think I like the Feathers side better than the Valley side and after going there and back was asking myself what all the mental fuss had been about.Go figure
