At party, at pub, in supermarket, at gig, on interweb. Same same but different.

The ones you meet are still all people. Same fears, same wishes, same dreams.

Lonely people are looking for someone. Someone who gives them time, who understands, who will hug them.

My marriage fell apart 8 years ago. I have met a few ladies since then. Some on the web, some IRL. Not like the ones from the web have a third arm. In fact, the one I really liked was from the web. She came down to see me from Sweden. Twice.

    I do it again. Anytime.

It's not re where she is from. It is re who she is.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

if you need to meet people try to go out and not stop your life in front of a pc: subscribe a cooking course, a painting course, go to the gym, go to surf, make thing you like.
it's the best way to meet people with your same passions and you can get a good tan too...
Yea, and if you have small children and no family to help while you do these courses? You stay home, and converse on the net
i reply here to this reputation comment concerning my post, 'cause i think it is an interesting point:
so if you have small children?
    well, use the children.
take them outside, go to play with them at the garden, subscribe them to some local playground, take them to soccer, or to skate, or to swim...
you'll find a lot of other with children, talk with them face to face in real world, take your babies to their knew friends' home, take all the babies together out for a pizza... you'll meet somebody
with babies, or friends of friends...

    best luck...

That's a bit over the top Mike, I was enjoying the funny bits, great humour but the sad bits frighten me, should I ever end up lonely!

We are both getting to the stage where one of us will kark it soon and after 46 years together, that is a worrying thought for the one left behind!

I have always drawn comfort from the fact that men don't live as long as women and I am four years older than her!

Truly, I wouldn't have a clue how or where to begin again, even if I wanted to.

It sounds like a serious situation to find yourself in, good luck to those who are seeking!

Works for me. I'm not into picking strange women in bars. I like ta be sober for the first time out. There just aren't the Old Hall Hops that there used to be, and I don't belong to any major Sport/Social Groups. This means that the chances of me meeting someone right for me is very limited without doing the Internet dating thing. It has worked well for me and have had some good relationships from it.
There are a lot of false people on Internet Dating sites for sure, but then there are a hell of a lot of false people in real life too (KB sure has their share). Like on here, on the Internet Dating Sites I don't pretend to be anything other than myself. It works well for me, as there are quite a few Women of my age out there that are sick of pretentious picks (and are tried of those losers that keep trying ta send them pic's of their dicks).

    My philosophies for dating are:
    • If ya want to be in a relationship with someone that is happy with you as the way you are, then you have to be how you are.
    • If ya want to stay in a relationship, then ya need to be prepared to work at it and never become complacent.
    • And if it is not working out (despite having made an effort) then be prepared to let it go. Let's face it, it is better to be single than to be in an unhappy relationship.

    Close, but no cigar.
Robin Williams explained it really well.
He said, "The problem is that God gave man a brain and a penis, but only enough blood to run one at a time".
    See? Simple eh?
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
