Always good to know of a place that doesn't charge the earth and knows what customer service is all about. I don't need new tyres just yet but have bookmarked their site for when I do.

Meh, when I was living in Auckland, I got a quote from both DPC and Cycletreads for a set of Pilot Road 2's.

Cycletreads were $50 cheaper. And closer.

Went in to my usual place on fri for new set of tyres in chch . rung first, yes set in stock , as usual asked for name to tag and hold them for day. Stripped rims off bike and dropped them off, told 1 hour , Went for a walk and look in shops, came back after 45min , they were just finishing last tyre. balanced and set to pressure I asked. brought a tyre repair kit, they gave me a few spare free gas cylinders , cause they said a 190/50 takes a bit of air to fill and only 3 cylinders in kit.
At this stage hadn't asked for price, 2nd time I've done this.

As usual price was pretty sharp ( I know current prices from other bikers and last purchase)
and I walked out happy. Thats why I keep going back, its a no brainer.

Out of curiosity and being a tard, why do tyre stores not carry or fit bike tyres?

I asked my brother (tyre store owner) that very question.

Answer: "I have enough money tied up in the stock I have to carry for cars. Plus, there are bike shops in town and I have no desire to piss them off."

I asked that very question of one of the few independently run cage tyre stores. Owner said in no uncertain terms he was to F off by the manufacturers - that the bike shops had sewn up the retailing from the tyre makers and would ditch the manufacturers brand from the lineup if said manufacturer sold via normal cage chain.

I can't reveal my sources because I've forgotten them.

Bridgestone mc tyres come from a different importer then car or truck . We did have to buy quite a lot of mc tyres to get accounts and also helped because I am me .
