The sooner the cotton on to registering peddle cyclists the better IMO

As far as I can tell, no prices have been increased dramatically as proposed, and my understanding was they'd be increased on the 1st June 2010.

I used google's advanced search to search the whole NZTA website for "CC" and the only reference to CC I could find was the learner size restriction.

I will retract these statements when I am shown the proper pricing with proof that it is going to / has happened.
the website is crap,i got a printout from colemans suzuki today which was from ltsa

I would like this answered as well. I remember recently there was a lot of bitching and moaning about buying a years worth of rego before they up the price.

Edit: I just searched it up. A lot of people (Ixion included) have posted that the new rego prices go live on 01/07/2010 - July 2010.

How come there's no word of this, especially the NZTA site? They can't just change it to the new prices come 1st July 2010. Don't they have to advertise that this will be done by saying "The following prices will be effective as of 01/07/2010" or similar with a new pricelist?

Show me some concrete sources and I'll believe it.

I'm not trying to be a dick, just trying to confirm exactly what is happening and when its happening.

The year before last I paid ~$250, last year I paid ~$320, this year I'll have to pay ~$405. Not as bad as they originally wanted to make it, but bad enough. 60% increase for a 400cc scooter in 2 years is a bit fuckin' rude IMO! For a >600cc bike we are talking about >100% increase in 2 years, even fuckin' ruder!

Fuck ACC, fuck them right in the ear!

So that makes my rego only $344.
What is the fine for using vehicle with rego on hold? Just your usual $200? and no demerits? (just so iam prepared since i've been riding on hold since may)

And fuck ACC and what happened to all the tough talk about everybody putting their bikes on hold when this shit got proposed? I see that half of you caved in with this "buy rego now" to save bullshit....

but to those of you with rego on hold, keep it up brothers...strength is in unity!

My 675 is like a ducati, the numbers don't mean shit My 675 is in fact a 599cc. It was entered incorrectly when I first purchased it. It's their new model you see.

And I only got 6 months rego when I brought the bike a month ago!! I can't even get more rego now, then put it on hold straight away (at least I don't think I can).

    ASS!

    Yes. Ignore it.
No rego but keep the WOF current. Simple.

Thats the one bud, wish I'd done it in April . I only ride about 4 months of the year anyway, but thats my plan, its going on hold.
Just remember they have already started checking rego in road stops on the Tukas, struck it twice now half way up the Hutt side.

Last year they retrospectively increased road user charges.

So if you had purchased 10,000 km at the old rate, and still had 8,000 of them unused, you had to take them back for a refund, and buy new ones at the new rate.

It would seem they can do anything they want !

Next year you will find another massive increase. The reason is simple. ACC have increased prices by (say) 65% for your class of vehicle. They are dim enough to have budgeted on getting 60-65% more revenue. But they wont. Some guys like me will simply ride with a WOF only.

But even the most law-abiding kiwis will try and save money. They will get rid of the second car, and just make do with one.

The problem is, that ACC face exactly the same risk as before, as that one car will be doing all the mileage previously done in two cars. So they have the same risk, have to make the same payouts as last year, but now collect half the premium.

    The solution !

    Put up premiums again !

sure can, did mine bout 18 months ago when I thought it was almost finished, almost ready to take it off hold again now. But anything registered as a moped is still subject to the power and speed restrictions 2kW and 50kmhr respectively.
