That's right you were having dramas at Slipway. I'd send it to

    J Halsey Rewinds Ltd
    65c Hattaway st Buckmans Beach
    Auckland
    0-9-534 4161

He'll be able to test & fix it for less than a replacement, send him the CDI & wiring too if suspect everything.

Any other system like YZ or RM will have to have taper recut & a backing plate made, though I'm sure you could do that, just mucking around.

I can't even say if my RS125 one on my MB100 one would fit as it has been butchered trying to cut the taper & he went too far so I had to mod the cases to bolt it in.

Hmmm, thinking of doing the BOB?
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

mine feel great now, following the instructions
Thank you kind Sir. Just trying to figure out what to put in the forks for Rangi...... he's a tad lighter than your average FXR.

Hey Trudi, I put 15 weight oil in my forks and it made a world of difference from the 10 weight that was in them. I also put in 170mls (that's right, mls. I didn't use a rod and dip it into the fork oil and blah blah) and this has got my forks exactly how I like them. Although to get the best out of the front end of my fxr I have to drive it pretty hard into a corner. Because your bike is lighter and your riding style might be different to mine, 10 weight might be the way to go or 15 weight with less oil? I'm not a pro at this, this is just the testing I have done to get the front end I wanted.

Thanks Hamish, that's all great info.
I'm thinking 10 weight may be the way to go for a start and see how it feels. (I love the bolded bit of what you said.... hahahaha, yeah, just a bit different, I can't even get my knee down yet, let alone my elbows!!!)

I'd stick with 10 weight for Rangi; make sure you give them a good clean out. mine were full of sh!t which was really surprising give the small number of kms that it had done in its previous life..
The only thing you might want to consider is the preload. but try it and see.

Sweet, sounds like tomorrow's job seeing as the Karters are doing a tech day tomorrow so can't go to the track to try out my slicks and Sunday's weather looks like poos.
What would you recommend cleaning them out with?

Hi all. Planning to come out. Caleb wants to ride. I may let my bones heal some more before I ride. It's comming on good. I asked the doctor when I could ride my motor bike? He told me they are dangers and I shouldn't ride them. Haven't fully got my head around that at this point. Having said that you dont see many automotive engineres with one arm. One day I will grow up.
I have those bars if you need them Trude.

Change doctors. They're dangerous and you must choose wisely young grasshopper.
That's the one good thing about a doctor I see, he understands motorbikes, and he doesn't ride.

Yeah man good idea to let the bone harden rather than just joined, takes another 6-8 weeks.
