No worries mate, will introduce myself when I see ya next time, maybe at Hots party next weekend.
unreal weather aye, eye a the storm maybe hey anyone remember the blue ZX9 that was parked next to me at the Kiwi? seen him on the downward side of the Kiwi on the way home, bikes well munted and a sad wee looking chink chatting to the coppers (nice guy knows of KB to) Im thinking as the mess was on his side of the road some arse hole hit him head on...

speaking of safety... remember please people when group riding do NOT cut across the center line on right handers... in a group its highly likely some impatient prick could be or might be trying to pass.
Shit man thats not good aye, was just admiring that gleaming blue Kwaka and then this happens. Do you know if the rider is OK?

Quess thats part of new faces on these rides, after a few years I know what to expect from you and others. Makes the ride more relaxed.
Have to say that retro is a pleasure to follow, very smooth and quick round the bays. Makes life less stressful.

That turbo is running quite nice now D , Be a shame to see it go , watching you today around the tight stuff it handles pretty well , for a bike of that era.
See there is a turbo gsx1400 on trademe at mo, looks nice work, complete with intercoolers.

I might have done this, only because I was trying to catch up after I texted you about where we were

(It wasn't because I wanted to give the 250 a good trash along the summit road, honest)

Next week is HOT Lady's party, I think the idea was for a fairly short ride to leave plenty of time and energy for later.

Akaroa will still be there for the next ride if we want to go.

Dunno many pricks, but it's a good call anyway. Old farts like me tend to want the whole lane, and the Summit especially isn't forgiving if you've got to an evasive on something in the lane (cyclist, two cyclists, grit, shit).

Also remember your following distance is still set at minimum by your reaction time, no matter how good the brakes you've got - and you never know, the guy in front might have better brakes than yours, too... Does give me the willies when I get tailgated (cars or bikes) as the ABS on the old road whale is quite effective, and in an emergency I do just haul on the anchors and let the system earn its keep (and you can concentrate on direction and gaps too).

Also good ride today, but didn't mean to be the snob by not stopping at the Kiwi - the headstart on the bunch was good, got to do the road at an enjoyable 50-70 and not stress over the gravel or surface (first time I've done it this way) and you guys can fang as you see fit!
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

Tend to agree, not that I know if I can go till minutes before, but if there are a few outer towners Ill try and sort the family out to meet up aswell.

Na mate, both times I came up behind you and passed you were keeping to a good line, was an easy pass for me.
Petra's lines are nice and fast LOL but like a few others it is a MUST to indercate your intensions when passing as a faster rider might be lining you up then ya pull out... wamo
    cheers DD
